Photography skill

Photography is a minor skill, so it has 5 levels. Unlocking level 1 requires 100 skill points. Reaching level 2 takes an additional 1,440 points, bringing your total to 1,540 points.

The point requirements grow larger at the middle and upper ranks. You need 2,160 more points to reach level 3, and 3,600 more points to reach level 4. The biggest jump happens at the end, where level 5 requires 5,280 points from level 4, for 12,580 total points.

Your Sim's emotion changes how fast you earn skill points. Being Very Inspired gives a 1.6 multiplier, while Inspired gives a 1.4 multiplier. Even a Sad mood helps, adding a 1.2 multiplier to your skill gain.

Keep your Sim calm while practicing, because anger slows down your progress. Being Angry reduces your gain multiplier to 0.8, and Very Angry drops it to 0.6. An Enraged Sim only gets a 0.4 multiplier.

You can stack moodlets to multiply your points even further. The Snaggle Flustered boost multiplies gains by 4, while Artistic Endeavors, Parental Guidance, and Skilling on Up multiply gains by 3. Creative Spark gives a 2.5 multiplier, Fluttering Bliss gives a 2 multiplier, and several other creative moodlets give a 1.5 multiplier.

The Style Influencer career requires Photography for promotions. You need level 2 to advance past career level 4 before choosing a branch. Both the Stylist and Trend Setter branches ask for level 3 at career level 6, and level 4 at career level 10.

Reaching the maximum rank unlocks one specific interaction. At level 5, your Sim can use the Teach about Photography interaction.
