Angler's Tranquility is a base game reward trait in The Sims 4. Your Sim unlocks it by completing the Angling Ace Aspiration.

Despite the fishing name, the trait changes your Sim's Fun need and Tense moodlets. It slows down Fun decay and weakens two specific Tense moodlets.

How Angler's Tranquility affects Fun and moodlets

A Sim with Angler's Tranquility loses Fun ×0.9 as fast as usual. This hidden multiplier stacks with other effects that change need decay. Your Sim can spend more time on tasks before needing entertainment.

The trait also changes two Tense moodlets that have no timer. It completely blocks the Needs Amusement moodlet, which normally adds a Tense weight of 1. Your Sim gets no moodlet at all when that would normally appear.

When your Sim would usually get the Desperate for Fun moodlet with a Tense weight of 3, this trait replaces it. Your Sim gets the weaker Needs Amusement moodlet with a Tense weight of 1 instead. The trait does not add any new moodlets or unlock special interactions.

Getting and cheating the Angler's Tranquility trait

Human Sims can have this trait at Child, Teen, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder ages. It has no trait conflicts, so you can pair it with any personality traits. Because it slows Fun decay and reduces Tense weight, it suits Sims who work long hours.

To earn it in normal play, complete the Angling Ace Aspiration. You can also add it in Live mode using the cheat console. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the box.

Type traits.equip_trait trait_AnglersTranquility to add the trait, or traits.remove_trait trait_AnglersTranquility to remove it. You do not need to turn on testingcheats true for these commands.
