Survivalist is a bonus and reward trait in The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat pack. Your Sim earns it by completing the Outdoor Enthusiast Aspiration.

The trait gives your Sim 5 special Happy moodlets. You can also add or remove this trait at any time using the cheat console.

Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C and type the line. It works without testingcheats. It gives the trait to the Sim you control (how traits.equip_trait works).

What the Survivalist trait changes in play

The Survivalist trait provides 5 Happy moodlets. Each of these moodlets has a weight of 1, which pulls your Sim toward the Happy emotion. One version of the Rustic Comfort moodlet has no timer and stays active while its cause lasts.

The other moodlets last for 6 hours, or 360 Sim minutes. The trait does not add hidden multipliers, career pay bonuses, or moodlet replacements. No interactions in the game check for this trait.

Who gets the Survivalist trait and how

Human Sims can have this trait as a Child, Teen, Young Adult, Adult, or Elder. It does not conflict with any other traits in the game. You earn it naturally by completing the Outdoor Enthusiast Aspiration.

You can also use cheats in Live mode to control the trait. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the console. Type traits.equip_trait trait_Survivalist to add it, or traits.remove_trait trait_Survivalist to remove it.
