Focused is a positive emotion in The Sims 4 that speeds up how fast your Sim learns specific skills. The game includes 403 moodlets that push your Sim toward this state. You can use this mood to build mental skills, Video Gaming, and Charisma faster.
The emotion has two stages, Focused and Very Focused. You reach the second stage when your Focused moodlets reach a total weight of 8 or higher. Whichever emotion has the highest total weight becomes your Sim's current mood.

What Focused and Very Focused do to skills
When your Sim is Focused, the game applies hidden multipliers to their skill gain. Mental skills build at a ×1.4 rate, Video Gaming builds at ×1.25, and Charisma builds at ×1.1. These hidden multipliers multiply together with other active effects on your Sim.
Reaching a total weight of 8 upgrades your Sim's mood to Very Focused. At this higher stage, mental skill gain increases to ×1.6, and Video Gaming skill gain rises to ×1.5. The Charisma skill gain multiplier stays at ×1.1.
How to get or remove Focused moodlets
You make a Sim Focused by stacking moodlets that have enough weight to beat other emotions. A single strong moodlet from the Vampires pack, Mysteriously Focused, gives a weight of 8 for 4 hours. That is enough to make your Sim Very Focused right away.
In the base game, Perfected gives a weight of 6 and Dedication gives a weight of 5. Both of those moodlets last for 1 day in Sim time. Overclocked PC, Overclocked Mind is another base game option that adds a weight of 4 for 8 hours.
To stop being Focused, wait for the moodlet timers to run out, or boost a different emotion past your Focused weight. You can also remove a specific moodlet in Live mode with the cheat console. Open it with Ctrl + Shift + C on PC, enter testingcheats true, and use sims.remove_buff for that moodlet.
