What Happy does to your Sim's skill gain
Happy multiplies skill gain for all skills by 1.2. At a total weight of 8, your Sim becomes Very Happy. Very Happy increases that skill gain multiplier for all skills to 1.4.
Both stages also apply specific multipliers that multiply together with the base effect. Charisma skill gain gets an extra 1.1 multiplier. This makes Happy and Very Happy useful when your Sim practices Charisma.
Five skills get a 0.875 multiplier during both Happy and Very Happy. These skills are Movement, Communication, Thinking, Imagination, and Potty. These hidden multipliers multiply together with the general skill boost.
How to get or remove Happy moodlets
You make your Sim Happy by getting Happy moodlets with a larger total weight than other emotions. The strongest timed moodlet is from Get Famous and adds a weight of 100 for 3 hours. Snowy Escape has a moodlet with a weight of 20 for 8 hours, and Get to Work has Tempted Fate with a weight of 10 for 2 days.
Cats and dogs in the Cats & Dogs pack also get a moodlet named Happy for 1 hour. You give a dog or cat the weight 1 version with interactions like Brush, Eat Something, or Give Big Treat. Dogs also get it from Fetch Ball or Dig, while cats get it from Give Catnip Treat or Give Special Smooches.
A moodlet disappears when its timer runs out in Sim time, or when its cause ends. You can also remove a specific moodlet in Live mode with the cheat console. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC, enter testingcheats true, and use the sims.remove_buff cheat for that moodlet.
