What the Playful emotion does to your Sim
Being Playful applies hidden multipliers to your Sim's skill gains. These multipliers combine with other active effects in the game. At the base Playful level, your Sim gets a ×1.4 multiplier to Comedy skill gain. They also receive a ×1.1 multiplier to both Charisma and Imagination skill gains.
Higher levels of the emotion increase the Comedy bonus further. When your Sim reaches a total weight of 8, they become Very Playful and gain Comedy skill at a ×1.6 rate. At a total weight of 15, your Sim becomes Hysterical and earns a ×1.8 multiplier for Comedy. The Charisma and Imagination multipliers stay at ×1.1 across the three stages.
How to get Playful or remove it
You make your Sim Playful by collecting moodlets that pull toward this emotion. Romantic Garden Stuff has the strongest timed moodlet, called Can't Stop Smiling, which adds a weight of 99 for 4 hours. Enchanted by Nature offers Critical Hysterical Overload with a weight of 15 for 12 hours, and Major Hysterical Overload with a weight of 8 for 12 hours.
Other packs provide strong options that trigger Very Playful on their own or with small boosts. Mysteriously Playful from Vampires adds a weight of 8 for 4 hours. Eco Lifestyle gives I'M SO FIZZING PLAYFUL, which adds a weight of 6 for 4 hours. Life & Death includes Playful Presence, adding a weight of 5 for 2 hours.
