A Sim with this trait can get two specific moodlets. The Am I Good Enough? moodlet gives a weight of 2 toward the Uncomfortable emotion. It has no timer, so it stays active as long as its cause lasts.

The Looming Anxiety moodlet adds a weight of 2 toward the Tense emotion. This moodlet lasts for 4 hours, which is 240 Sim minutes.

The trait also applies a hidden multiplier to relationships. Your Sim takes friendship losses ×2, so negative social outcomes hurt relationships twice as fast. The trait does not change career pay or replace standard moodlets.

Who gets the trait and cheat codes

Only human Sims from the Teen age group through the Elder age group can have this trait. It does not conflict with any other traits in the game. No interactions check for it or grant it directly.

You can add or remove the trait in Live mode using the cheat console. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the box. You do not need to enter testingcheats true first.

Type traits.equip_trait Trait_Fear_DisappointingParents to give the trait to your active Sim. Type traits.remove_trait Trait_Fear_DisappointingParents to delete it.
