Fear of Ghosts is a Fear trait in the base game of The Sims 4. Human Sims can get this trait as a Teen, Young Adult, Adult, or Elder. A Sim gets it through the Scared by Ghost interaction.

The trait gives your Sim 1 Scared moodlet called Looming Dread. You can also add or remove the trait in Live mode with a cheat code.

What Fear of Ghosts changes in play

Fear of Ghosts gives your Sim 1 unique moodlet called Looming Dread. This moodlet gives the Scared emotion with a weight of 2. The emotion with the largest total weight becomes your Sim's main mood, and this moodlet lasts 4 hours.

This trait does not change hidden multipliers or career pay bonuses. It also does not replace standard moodlets or unlock any interactions that check for it.

Who gets Fear of Ghosts and trait conflicts

Only human Sims from the Teen to Elder age stages can have Fear of Ghosts. It conflicts with the Gloomy, Brave, and Adventurous traits. A Sim with any of those traits cannot have this fear.

In normal play, the Scared by Ghost interaction gives this trait to your Sim. You can also control it with the cheat console in Live mode.
