The Sims 4 aspiration cheat

The Sims 4 aspiration cheat: complete milestones with one code, change your aspiration, earn satisfaction points, and fix common errors.

The cheat is aspirations.complete_current_milestone. Open the cheat box, type testingcheats true, and then type the cheat. It completes the current milestone of the active Sim. Type it again for each milestone that is left.

CodeWhat it does
testingcheats trueTurns on cheats. Type it first.
aspirations.complete_current_milestoneCompletes the current aspiration milestone of the active Sim.
sims.give_satisfaction_points 5000Gives the active Sim the number of Satisfaction Points that you type.
cas.fulleditmodeLets you change everything in Create a Sim, the aspiration too.

The milestone code is on the official EA cheat list. It works in the base game, with no pack.

PlatformHow to open the box
PCCtrl + Shift + C
MacCtrl + Shift + C. Some guides list Command + Shift + C, so try that if Ctrl does not work.
PlayStationHold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 at the same time.
XboxHold LB + LT + RB + RT at the same time.

Open the box in Live mode, while you play a household. Type the code and press Enter. Press Esc, or the four shoulder buttons again, to close it.

  1. Save the game.
  2. Select the Sim. The cheat works on the active Sim only.
  3. Open the cheat box.
  4. Type testingcheats true and press Enter.
  5. Type aspirations.complete_current_milestone and press Enter.
  6. Open the Aspiration panel. The next milestone is now the current one.
  7. Type the cheat again until all milestones are done.

Most aspirations have four milestones, so you type the cheat four times. A few aspirations have only one milestone. Game Rant says that no single code completes a whole aspiration.

When the last milestone is done, the Sim gets the reward trait of that aspiration. Hover over the gold button in the Aspiration panel to see which trait it is.

We found no shift-click option that completes a milestone. EA and the wikis list only the typed code for that. Use aspirations.complete_current_milestone.

Shift-click helps in a different way. With testingcheats true on, shift-click a Sim and choose Modify in CAS. If you typed cas.fulleditmode first, you can pick a new aspiration in Create a Sim. You can also change traits there.

On a console, EA says to hold Circle and press X on PlayStation. On Xbox, hold B and press A. That is the same as a shift-click.

You do not need a cheat. Open the Aspiration panel and click the big star button on the right. A menu opens with every aspiration. Click each one to see its goals, and then choose one.

EA says that you keep your progress when you switch. Some aspirations in the same group share milestones. The Sims Wiki says a shared milestone that you already finished stays complete in the new aspiration.

One thing does not change. The bonus trait comes only from the aspiration that you chose in Create a Sim. If your Sim started as an angler and now has a creative aspiration, the Sim keeps the angler trait.

Each goal in a milestone gives Satisfaction Points. Hover over a goal to see how many. The Sims Wiki lists a total for each aspiration. Most give between 4,000 and 5,500 points when you complete all milestones.

Guides say that the milestone cheat also gives the points of that milestone. You spend them in the Rewards Store, behind the gift icon on the Aspiration panel. To add an exact number of points, read the Sims 4 satisfaction points cheat.

  • You skipped testingcheats. Type testingcheats true first, then the cheat.
  • You made a typo. The code has a dot after “aspirations” and underscores between the other words. It has no spaces.
  • The wrong Sim is active. The cheat changes only the Sim that you control now. Select the right Sim first.
  • The Sim is a teen. The Sims Wiki says some aspirations have a “become an adult” milestone. A teen cannot finish those aspirations.
  • The Sim is a toddler or younger. These Sims have no aspiration, so there is nothing to complete.

On a console, yes. EA says that cheats which need testingcheats true turn off Achievements and Trophies in that save. Your other saves keep them. EA does not say what happens on a PC.

LifeSim is a free life sim in your browser set on a real map of Earth, where people talk back in your own words. It has no aspiration panel or cheat codes. You set your own goals. If you want to see it, read about the life simulator, or compare games like The Sims.

Is there a cheat to complete a whole aspiration?

No. Type the milestone cheat once for each milestone.

Do I lose progress when I change an aspiration?

No. EA says that you keep your progress.

Can I give a reward trait without the aspiration?

Guides list traits.equip_trait with the code name of the trait. The code names are long, so the milestone cheat is often easier.
