During the first four levels, your Sim works 35 hours per week. Shifts run on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, starting at 08:00 for 7 hours. Pay begins at 560 Simoleons per week at level 1 and rises to 1,715 Simoleons at level 4.
Your Sim also earns paid time off for each day worked, starting at 0.2 days at level 1. Certain traits and university degrees boost your hourly pay. For example, an honors BA in Communications or History adds 41% to your hourly rate.
Other traits give smaller pay increases. The Knowledge trait adds 30%, Valedictorian adds 15%, and Business Savvy adds 10%. If your Sim quits the job, the level they rejoin at drops by one every 2 days.
Politician branch versus Charity Organizer branch
At level 5, you must pick a branch. The Politician branch pays the most money overall, reaching 9,520 Simoleons per week at level 10. In this branch, you work 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday until level 9.
When you reach level 10 as a National Leader, your schedule drops to 28 hours per week. You earn 340 Simoleons per hour across four work days. This makes the Politician branch the best choice for high weekly income.
The Charity Organizer branch offers shorter work weeks, starting at 32 hours at level 5. A level 10 Charity Icon earns 342 Simoleons per hour. That beats the National Leader hourly rate, but the 18-hour week brings in 6,156 Simoleons.
Faster promotions and Politician career cheats
When your work performance is close to the promotion line, you have a 1% base chance for an early promotion. The Entrepreneurial trait multiplies this chance by 10. The Growth Mindset moodlet multiplies it by 5.
Poor performance at the end of a shift brings a 100% chance of demotion. However, the Professional Slacker trait changes this multiplier to 0, meaning your Sim avoids demotion.
