Daily schedule and pay growth
In the first five levels, you work Monday through Friday starting at 08:00. Each shift lasts 8 hours, which adds up to 40 hours a week. Your weekly pay grows from 880 Simoleons at level 1 to 2,240 Simoleons at level 5.
Certain traits and degrees boost your hourly pay across these first five levels. An Economics or Psychology BS degree with honors adds 41% to your hourly rate. The Knowledge trait adds 30%, Valedictorian adds 15%, and Business Savvy adds 10%.
You also earn paid time off for each day you work. This starts at 0.2 days per shift at level 1 and reaches 0.375 days at level 10. If your Sim quits the job, their rejoin level drops by one every 2 days.
Comparing the Administrator and Professor branches
At level 6, you pick either the Administrator branch or the Professor branch. The Administrator branch pays more money per week. You start as a Student Services Officer making 4,000 Simoleons for a 40-hour week.
In the Administrator branch, your highest weekly pay is 7,140 Simoleons at level 9 as a Vice-Chancellor. At level 10, a Head Chancellor makes 325 Simoleons an hour, but works 18 hours for 5,850 Simoleons a week.
The Professor branch offers shorter work weeks earlier in the track. At level 6, an Intrepid Instructor works 28 hours a week for 2,016 Simoleons. By level 10, a Master Educator works 18 hours across Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 4,770 Simoleons a week.
Faster promotions and career cheats
When your work performance is close to the promotion line, you have a 1% base chance for an early promotion. The Entrepreneurial trait multiplies this chance by 10, and the Growth Mindset moodlet multiplies it by 5. If performance hits the bottom at the end of work, the demotion chance is 100%, unless you have the Professional Slacker trait, which multiplies that chance by 0.
