Work schedule and pay in the Gardener career
In the first four levels, your Sim works 7 hours a day for 35 hours a week. You work on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Shifts start at 08:00 for levels 1 and 2, and move to 07:00 for levels 3 and 4.
Your starting pay at level 1 is 20 Simoleons per hour, which gives you 700 Simoleons per week. By level 4, your pay rises to 25 Simoleons per hour, or 875 Simoleons per week. You also earn paid time off each work day, starting at 0.15 days at level 1.
Specific traits and degrees add a percentage bonus to your hourly pay. A Biology Degree (BS, honors) or a Fine Art Degree (BA, honors) adds a 41 percent bonus. The Knowledge trait adds 30 percent, Valedictorian adds 15 percent, and Business Savvy adds 10 percent.
Comparing the Botanist and Floral Designer branches
The Botanist branch is the best choice if you want the highest income. It starts at level 5 with 40 Simoleons per hour, or 1,600 Simoleons for a 40-hour week. At level 10, a PhD of Pollen makes 420 Simoleons per hour and 8,400 Simoleons per week.
The Floral Designer branch pays less at each level. You begin at level 5 making 35 Simoleons per hour, which is 1,225 Simoleons for a 35-hour week. At level 10, a Visionary of Vases earns 350 Simoleons per hour, or 7,000 Simoleons per week.
Both branches reduce your weekly work hours to 20 when you reach level 10. At the top of either branch, you work 5 hours a day from Monday to Thursday. Botanists also earn slightly more paid time off, reaching 0.35 days per workday at level 10.
Faster promotions and Gardener career cheats
When your work performance gets close to the promotion line, you have a 1 percent base chance for an early promotion. The Entrepreneurial trait multiplies this chance by 10. Having the Growth Mindset moodlet multiplies the chance by 5.
If your performance drops to the demotion line, the base chance of demotion is 100 percent. However, the Professional Slacker trait multiplies your demotion chance by 0, so you cannot get demoted. If you quit the job, the level you rejoin at drops by one every 2 days.
