Pets in Paralives

Not yet. Paralives is in early access on Steam, and pets are not in the game. Pets are on the plan, and the studio lists them as a free update.

The early access build came out on May 25, 2026. TheSimsTree lists what it holds: an open town, careers, personality traits, emotions, needs, aging, and children. Pets are not on that list.

The official news page of Paralives does not mention pets either. The roadmap is the only place where pets appear. This post lists what the roadmap says.

TheSimsTree lists three animals for Live Mode: dogs, cats, and horses. Live Mode is the part of the game where your Parafolk live.

TheSimsTree also lists pet creation in the Paramaker. The Paramaker is the character tool. The same list names more clothes, hairstyles, and advanced genetics editing for the Paramaker.

Steam says that pets are planned for the full version of the game. The Steam page also lists dogs, cats, and horses for early access.

No source gives a date. Game Rant wrote on May 27, 2026 that the roadmap has no dates for pets, cars, or other updates. Game Rant calls the roadmap live and says that it may change.

Game Rant also says that all roadmap items arrive during early access, between 2026 and 2028. The first four months, from June to September 2026, go to bug fixes, quality of life, and performance.

Steam says that early access lasts about two years before the 1.0 release. The price rises as the game gains content. This fits the 2028 end date in the Game Rant article.

We do not know. The news page of Paralives was our best source. It lists patch 0.1.9, dated October 8, 2026. The patch fixes bugs and adds small items. It also moves the game to Unity 6, which the studio says gives a framerate gain of up to 15%.

The same page talks about a free major update for the “end of year”. The studio shows new clothes and hairstyles for it. The page says nothing about pets.

Do not plan your purchase around a guess. Read the patch notes of each new update on the Paralives news page.

No. The studio says that the game will never have paid DLC. Steam gives this quote: “we have pledged to never release paid DLCs: there will only ever be free updates!”

That includes pets. TheSimsTree lists pets as a free update. The price of the game itself rises as content arrives. Steam lists it at $39.99 for PC and Mac. A sale can lower the price.

TheSimsTree lists the early access build. It is a large game, even without animals. The build holds these parts:

• Live Mode: an open town with no loading screens, careers, personality traits, emotions, and needs.
• Live Mode: relationships, aging, death, children, and Parafolk that act by themselves.
• Live Mode: group interactions and an economy with hazards such as house fires.
• Build Mode: curved walls, walls at any angle, split-level floors, and object resizing.
• Paramaker: face and body sliders, tattoos, clothing layers, and a genetics system.
• Modding tools from the first day.

TheSimsTree lists many free updates for early access. For Live Mode, it lists weather and seasons, a calendar and a family tree, and swimming. It also lists gardening, fishing, parties, and weddings.

The same list has cars, bikes, boats, and houseboats. Steam adds a town creation tool for the full version. For Build Mode, the list has advanced roof and stair tools, basement tools, and pools.

Game Rant asks about pools in its title. The article text that we read does not list pools. It lists lake and pond tools. TheSimsTree lists pools. Treat pools as a plan with less proof than pets.

Use these steps. They take two minutes.

• Open the Paralives news page.
• Read the newest patch notes. Look for the word “pets”.
• Open the Steam page and check the newest announcement.
• Check the roadmap link in the patch notes. The roadmap is live and may change.

Ignore any site that shows a pet release date without a link to the studio. We found no date on the pages of the studio.

LifeSim has no pets. It is a free life sim in a browser. You live one life among people who remember what you say. Pick it only if people matter more to you than animals.

Use this rule. Buy Paralives for what it does today, not for what it will add. Pets are a plan, and the plan has no date.

Wait if pets decide your choice. Buy now if the build tools and the open town fit your play. Steam reviews are Very Positive. 90% of 14,660 English reviews are positive. In the last 30 days, 80% of 491 reviews are positive.

Steam warns that early access games are incomplete and may change. The studio funded the game through Patreon, and its home page says the game is in active development. Pay only for the game you can play today.
