How to get married in inZOI

Raise the romance to True Love, propose, and wed now or plan an event. Moving in, wedding bugs and divorce, as of the October 2026 patch.

How do you get married in inZOI?

Raise a romance to the top level, propose, and then marry at once or plan a wedding. The top level of the romance bar is True Love. After the proposal, a Zoi can choose “Get Married” or plan a wedding in the Events app of the smartphone.

  1. Meet a Zoi and build the bond with friendly talk.
  2. Use romantic interactions until the two Zois become Sweethearts.
  3. Go on dates until the bond reaches True Love.
  4. Select the partner and choose “Ask Them to Marry You”.
  5. After a yes, choose “Get Married” or plan a wedding event.
  6. After the marriage, move the couple into one house.

We opened the guides and the patch notes on October 21, 2026. The newest Steam patch on that day was the v0.11.1 hotfix of October 20, 2026. inZOI is in Early Access, so each patch can change these steps. Most guides are from 2025. Where a patch changed a rule, we say so.

How do you start a romance in inZOI?

Start with friendly talk, then use romance options when they unlock. Every new relationship starts at Neutral. The Sportskeeda guide names three friendly categories: Humor, Chitchat and Affection. When the friendship bar is at half, romantic options unlock, such as flirts and compliments.

The relationship levels

The Deltia’s Gaming guide lists these levels, from the worst to the best.

  • Terrible, Uncomfortable and Ambivalent: the Zois do not like each other.
  • Neutral: the start of every relationship.
  • Mutual Crush: the Zois like to spend time together.
  • Sweetheart: the Zois are a couple.
  • True Love: the Zois are deeply in love and can propose.

When the romance bar is full, choose “Confess Love”. The relationship then moves to Sweetheart. Plan dates in the Schedule or Events app of the phone. Pick a place and a time, and set the recommended and prohibited actions. Deltia’s Gaming also warns that too many romantic gestures can annoy the other Zoi.

Who can a Zoi date?

The April 22, 2025 patch added settings for gender identity and romantic attraction. The player can change these settings at any time. Zois who match these settings then appear in the world. When can you propose in inZOI?

Propose at True Love for the best result. The sources do not agree on the earliest level. Game8 says that the proposal option unlocks at True Love. Deltia’s Gaming says that a Zoi can propose at Sweetheart, but the partner can refuse. Its move-in guide also says to propose after Sweetheart.

Sportskeeda gives the same warning. If the bond is not strong enough, the partner can say no. Then raise the bond and try again. If the proposal works, a notification says that the Zois are engaged. Game8 says that no notification means the proposal failed.

What is the name of the option?

Game8 and Deltia’s Gaming use “Ask Them to Marry You”. The April 22, 2025 patch notes use “Propose Marriage”. The name can differ with the patch or the language of the game. Look in the Romance category of the interaction menu.

Can Zois marry on their own?

Yes. The Autonomy options have a “Get Married” setting. The v0.10.2 hotfix came on September 9, 2026. It fixed a bug that stopped some Zois from marrying on their own.

How do you plan a wedding in inZOI?

Open the Events app on the smartphone and make a Wedding event. Game8 gives these steps.

  1. Open the Events app and click a time slot.
  2. Set the event type to Wedding.
  3. Set the name, the duration and the location of the event.
  4. In the Roles section, pick the guests.
  5. Give each guest a dress code and up to seven recommended and banned actions.
  6. Change the outfits of the couple in Create a Zoi.

Sportskeeda says that the player also picks the officiant. Game8 says that dead Zois can sometimes come as guests. It calls this a possible bug.

What happens at the ceremony?

The wedding starts at the time of the event. Press play on the Scripted Actions, or click the Zois and choose each action. Guests can use Immediate Actions, such as clap and heckle. The venue has a photo booth that works like photo mode in inZOI.

Sportskeeda lists this order for the ceremony. It says that the right order prevents bugs.

  1. Thank the guests.
  2. Prepare the speech of the officiant.
  3. Walk down the aisle.
  4. Let some Zois give speeches.
  5. Exchange the rings.
  6. Start the festivities after the ceremony.
  7. Walk together as a married couple.
  8. Have the first dance.

The March 26, 2026 patch added two wedding changes. “Give Kiss Performance” is now a scripted action, and players can change the color of a wedding dress. For other changes per version, see our list of inZOI patch notes.

Do married Zois move in together in inZOI?

Yes. After the wedding, a window asks where the couple will live. Game8 says that the couple must live in the same house. The window lets you move to a new house and split the household.

Can you move in together without marriage?

Not with a normal interaction, as of the Early Access release in 2025. Game8 says that marriage was the only natural way. You can force it with Edit City. Press M, open All Families, and choose “Move Zois Between Families”. Deltia’s Gaming gives the same steps.

The v0.10.0 patch of September 3, 2026 added a sleepover. A Zoi can ask a Zoi with a high relationship score to stay the night. The guest leaves the next morning. This is not a move. For more on households, read how to edit a Zoi in inZOI.

What changes after the marriage?

The romance becomes a Family relationship. In April 2025, Game8 said that the level then went back to Neutral. The June 2025 patch changed that rule. Now a part of the old romance score carries over into the family score.

  • Spouses get jealous when the partner romances other Zois, according to Game8.
  • The March 26, 2026 patch let Zois ask their spouses out on dates.
  • The v0.9.0 patch of June 19, 2026 let romantic partners hold hands.
  • The same patch added the philandering and single-hearted traits.
  • If a partner catches a Zoi who cheats, the romance score drops a lot.

The sources do not agree on dates for married couples. The March 2026 patch notes say spouses can go on dates. A developer post came on September 4, 2026. It says that the team is “preparing to let married couples go on dates with each other”. We do not know the difference. Test it in your game.

Can you start a game with a married couple?

Maybe. The v0.10.0 patch lets you set the relationships of household members in the family tree. The v0.11.0 patch of October 15, 2026 lets you change relationship levels in Create a Zoi. The notes do not list each relationship type. A Steam player said that the household setup has a Married choice, but that player did not test it.

Why can’t I plan a wedding in inZOI?

The most common report is a wedding event that does not appear in the calendar. A Steam thread of March 29, 2025 describes it. The player made a Wedding event and confirmed it, but the calendar stayed empty. Many players had the same problem.

What fixes did players find?

  • Invite the partner to the house and choose “plan wedding together” in the talk.
  • Plan a party, wait for the partner to arrive, and then end the party.
  • Plan the wedding event at the home of the player Zoi.

These fixes come from players, not from Krafton. Some players said that the partner lived outside the city. Then the partner was hard to call or find.

Which bugs did patches fix?

  • April 22, 2025: a queued “Propose Marriage” started a move without a marriage.
  • June 2025: relationships reset after the marriage and caused negative talk.
  • March 26, 2026: a marriage sold the business property of a business owner.
  • March 26, 2026: a marriage with an NPC Zoi did not work correctly.
  • June 19, 2026: crowd NPC Zois retired from their jobs after a marriage.

How do you get a divorce in inZOI?

Open the social menu of the spouse, choose the Conflict category, and select Divorce. Those are the steps of Deltia’s Gaming. It says that the Zois talk and then end the marriage at once.

Game8 gives more conditions. The Divorce option appears only after many Conflict actions, when the relationship reaches the Distant level. The spouse can also say no. Game8 says that the request works after more tries. A notification then confirms the divorce.

What happens after a divorce?

  • Both Zois are upset and can get angry. Deltia’s Gaming says to move one out.
  • A divorced Zoi can marry again, also with the same ex after a long courtship.
  • The June 2025 patch fixed the “Announce Divorce” interaction for children.

A Steam thread of April 8, 2025 asks what to do when the ex still lives in the house. The serious answers pointed to the household tools. Use Edit City and “Move Zois Between Families” to move the ex to another household.

How do you break up when you are not married?

Deltia’s Gaming says that a couple who only date can break up. It also says that this process differs from a divorce. It does not give the steps, and we did not find them in a page that loaded.

Where does LifeSim fit?

LifeSim does not fit if you want a wedding menu. We do not have a proposal button, an Events app for weddings, or a scripted ceremony. If you want to plan the guests, the dress code and the first dance, stay with inZOI.

Is same-sex marriage in inZOI?

Yes, according to Game8. At launch, Inverse reported a bug that blocked same-sex relationships. The April 22, 2025 patch then added the romantic attraction settings.

Do you need to be married to have a baby in inZOI?

How old must a Zoi be to marry?

We did not find the age rule in a page that loaded. Teens can date since June 2025. Check the options in your game.

Is a wedding in inZOI like a wedding in The Sims 4?
