inZOI mods

Where inZOI mods come from, the steps to install them, and how to keep your save safe after an update.

Use the mod menu inside the game. The official mod source is CurseForge. CurseForge says that every mod on its inZOI page is available to download from inside the game.

This post explains where mods come from, what the newest updates changed, and how to keep your save safe. We opened each source on October 3, 2026.

You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a browser life sim without mods. We say where our game does not fit.

Yes. Wikipedia says that the studio added official mod support in May 2025, after it removed the copy protection called Denuvo. The same page says that the game comes with plugins that make mod creation easy.

The studio did not wait for the community. It builds tools too. The roadmap from January 2026 lists a plan for tools that guide you step by step. These tools cover accessories, motions, and faces. The roadmap also lists vehicle mods for June and script mods for December. A roadmap is a plan, so dates can move.

Start on CurseForge. It lists 5,792 inZOI mod projects, on the day that we opened the page. It sorts them in four groups:

  • Mods: gameplay changes, vehicles, and animations.
  • Build Mode: furniture and home objects.
  • Create a Zoi: outfits, hairstyles, accessories, and tattoos.
  • Overlay UI: changes to the screens of the game.

The page says that full dress sets and furniture mods are available. It says that face mods, hair mods, custom interactions, and more build mode mods are coming soon. That text may be old, so look at the list yourself.

Nexus Mods is a second source. A player in a Steam thread says that you can use Vortex, a third-party mod manager from Nexus, with the game. Use the official route first. A third-party tool is a risk that the studio does not support.

We could not open the studio page for the steps, so we give the steps that the patch notes support. The patch notes for version 0.10.0, dated September 3, 2026, list these items:

  • A new Browse mods page, which is easier to use.
  • A mod menu that you can open while you play.
  • Access to the local mod folder.
  • A dedicated wizard for vehicle mods.

Use this order:

  1. Update the game to the newest version.
  2. Open the mod menu, and go to the Browse mods page.
  3. Choose one mod. Read its page.
  4. Install the mod. Start a test save.
  5. Add the next mod only when the first one works.

Do not add ten mods at one time. If the game breaks, you cannot tell which mod caused it.

An update can break a mod. The September 2026 patch notes list one fix for this: official verified mods are no longer turned off after an update. A mod that is not verified can still be turned off.

Follow these rules:

  • Copy your save folder before each update.
  • Read the patch notes before you play.
  • Check the page of each mod for a new version.
  • Remove a mod if the game does not start.

The October 2026 update adds more mod features, according to Sims Community. It names expanded animation and positioning customization. The post gives no exact date, only “coming in October.”

We found no official page that says yes. A player in a Steam thread asks the question. One answer says that Steam Workshop is unlikely, because the game is on more than one store. That is the opinion of a player, not a statement of the studio.

The Steam page for inZOI does not list Workshop in the text that we read. Paralives does list it. See inZOI vs Paralives for the comparison.

Not now. The game has no released multiplayer mode. The January roadmap plans official mods in online play for June, and tests of mods that link to multiplayer for October. We could not confirm that either step shipped.

Read does inZOI have multiplayer for the newest status.

The September patch notes list the Mac version, on Steam and on the Mac App Store, as a platform of the update. They list the mod changes in the same notes. We did not find a source that says how mods differ on Mac.

For PS5, Wikipedia lists the version for early 2027. The roadmap lists research for PS5 and Mac mod support in June. We found no statement that console mods will exist. Do not plan on them. Read inZOI PS5 release date for the console plan.

This part is our advice. It is not from a source. A mod is code or data from a person that you do not know. Treat it with care.

  • Install mods from CurseForge, from inside the game, first. It is the official route.
  • Read the page of the mod. Look at the date of the last update.
  • Read the comments. A broken mod usually has a comment.
  • Do not install a tool that asks you to turn off your antivirus.
  • Keep a copy of your save before you add a mod.

The September patch notes show that the studio also checks mods. They name “official verified mods”. A verified mod is the safer choice. We could not find the rules for how a mod becomes verified.

The four groups on CurseForge show what players make. Most players start with the Create a Zoi group, because clothes and hair change what you see at once. The page says that full dress sets are available.

Build Mode mods add furniture and home objects. Mods in the first group, named Mods, add vehicles and animations. Overlay UI mods change the screens.

The studio adds its own tools in the same areas. The January roadmap lists tools for accessories, motions, and faces in March. The October update adds more animation and positioning options, according to Sims Community. A tool from the studio can make a mod from the community less needed. Check the new patch notes before you download an old mod.

LifeSim has no mod system. You do not add clothes or furniture. You live one life on a real map of Earth, and you talk to the people in it. They remember what you say.

We fit if you like to change how a story goes, not how a room looks. We do not fit if you want custom outfits. Use inZOI in that case. LifeSim runs in a browser. It is free, and it has no in-app purchases. Read how to play LifeSim to see how it works.

For other games with a large mod base, read games like The Sims.

Are inZOI mods free?

We did not check the price of each mod. Read the page of the mod before you install it.

Can I make my own mod?

Yes. The studio provides a ModKit. The September patch notes list better progress indicators and tooltips in the ModKit.

Is inZOI free?

No. Read is inZOI free for the price.
