inZOI patch notes

The latest inZOI update is v0.11.0, a “Mini Update” that came out on October 15, 2026. It focuses on mods. It adds support for Lua script mods in the ModKit and support for filter mods.

The team calls it a mini update. It still adds hundreds of new items for Create a Zoi and Build mode. Sims Community lists the Steam builds as 20261013.16166.W for Windows and 20261013.16167.M for Mac.

This page lists the main changes of each inZOI update in 2026. We read the patch notes of each update on the day of writing. You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a browser life sim, and we say where our game does not fit.

Lua mods and filter mods

The patch notes say that players can apply written Lua scripts to mods with the Lua script mod editor in the ModKit. Filter mods let players make custom graphics filters for the game.

The notes also say that players can write Lua scripts with an LLM through an MCP integration. New CLI commands change the maximum number of cars and Zois. You can run them directly or ask the LLM to run them.

ModKit tools

The ModKit has new sample assets, a headwear wizard, and a step-by-step wizard for build-category items. It makes four LOD levels for imported character skeletal meshes. It warns you when an imported body or head mesh uses Nanite, because transparent materials can render wrong. For a full guide to mods, read inZOI mods.

Build mode

You can now set autonomy plans for public properties and set permissions for each furniture item. You can set door permissions for each household member. Basement walls are now editable. The cheat EnableFreeEditMode lets you place and scale objects freely.

The update adds 106 interaction objects, 7 build objects, 2 tile textures, and 124 FX items. The FX items sit in a WIP category that you open with a cheat. For more cheats, read inZOI cheats.

Fixes

The update fixes a lighting difference between Photo Mode and Play Mode. It fixes Zois that stood under a boat after fishing. It fixes uninvited Zois that joined a Dinner Party. It also fixes display problems in the ESC menu on Mac.

Version 0.10.0 came out on September 3, 2026, on Steam and on the Mac App Store. Its main feature is vacations.

Vacations

Zois can travel to other cities. The player chooses the companions, the lodging, and the length of the trip. Only the Zoi who booked the room gets door access. Check-out is at 12:00 PM. A vacation uses a separate save file, so your original city save stays safe.

Dine Out and visits

Restaurants now have a full dining flow. A group sits at a table, orders from the menu, and gets served after the chef cooks. Zois pay after the meal. This works for restaurants that a Zoi owns. Zois can also knock on the door of another home.

Beach and pool

The notes add interactions for the pool and the beach. Beach features include scuba diving with a suit and surfing with a surfboard.

Version 0.9.0 came out on June 19, 2026. A hotfix, v0.9.1, came out the same day. The main feature is active gameplay for high school. Read the full guide at inZOI high school.

The update also adds these changes:

• An experimental Advanced Driving Mode with a handbrake, body roll, and suspension.
• A clothing store with mannequins, and updates to the hair salon.
• A minimap that works like GPS.
• Hand-holding, consequences for cheating, new baby traits and illness, high chairs, and baby food.
• An updated CurseForge browser in the game, and support for CLO Connect.

The Steam download is about 9.4 GB. The article advises you to back up your saves. Mods start disabled after you launch the game.

April 29: careers and Unreal Engine 5.6

This update adds new jobs in Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. A Zoi must pass an interview first. School, career, and business are now separate categories that can overlap when the schedules do not conflict. Pay is daily. Poor performance can lead to a firing, and retirement after enough service triggers a party and a pension.

The update adds four types of freelance work: Delivery, Creative, Publishing, and Sell Online. A Zoi needs a license from the computer to start. The game now runs on Unreal Engine 5.6, and the modkit changed with it. The notes tell you to back up your save.

March 26: one year of Early Access

This update marks one year since inZOI entered Early Access. It adds a 28-day month calendar that shows holidays, birthdays, and due dates. It adds festivals for spring, fall, and winter. It adds flower shops, and Zois can multitask when a nearby interaction catches their interest.

Yes. The Steam page labels inZOI as an Early Access game. It lists the release date as March 27, 2025. The developers say they plan to improve the game during Early Access for at least a year. We did not find a date for the full release.

Version numbers below 1.0 fit this status. The updates of 2026 with a version number in this guide are v0.9.0, v0.10.0, and v0.11.0. For the cost of the game, read is inZOI free? For the pace of the work, read is inZOI worth it?

Follow these steps before each update:

1. Close the game.
2. Copy your save files to a safe folder.
3. Let Steam or the Mac App Store install the update.
4. Open the game and check your mods. The June update starts with mods disabled.
5. Update or remove the mods that fail.

The April update changed the engine version, so old mods may need an update. If you play on a Mac, read inZOI on Mac. If your PC is old, check inZOI system requirements.

No page of ours lists patch notes by version number. This is a place where LifeSim does not fit. LifeSim runs in your browser, so you do not install updates. You also do not manage a mod folder.

We did not find a date. The updates of 2026 came on March 26, April 29, June 19, September 3, and October 15.

Does inZOI have seasons?

The March 26 patch notes add festivals that belong to spring, fall, and winter. They also add a 28-day month calendar. The April notes mention a cheat to change the season.

Does inZOI have a school?

Yes. The June 19 update added active high school gameplay.

Can I drive in inZOI?

Yes. Zois can drive vehicles in the city since the March 26 update.
