Calm is a personality trait from the base game, for Infant Sims. It changes 2 standard moodlets: Sleepy becomes So Sleepy (Sad +1). Cheat: traits.equip_trait trait_Infant_Calm.

The Calm trait is a base game personality trait for human infants in The Sims 4. It changes how a tired infant reacts by swapping Angry moodlets for Sad ones.

You can select this trait in Create a Sim when you make an infant. You can also add or remove it in Live mode with a cheat.

Calm cheat

Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C and type the line. It works without testingcheats. It gives the trait to the Sim you control (how traits.equip_trait works).

What the Calm trait changes in play

Calm infants feel Sad instead of Angry when they need sleep. Instead of the Sleepy Angry moodlet with a weight of 1, your infant gets the So Sleepy Sad moodlet with a weight of 1. When very tired, the infant gets the So So Slee...py... Sad moodlet with a weight of 3 instead of the usual Angry moodlet of the same weight.

These replacement moodlets have no timer, so they last until you fix the cause. The trait adds no hidden multipliers, no career bonuses, and no unique moodlets of its own. Only 1 interaction in the game files, Cry, checks whether the infant has the Calm trait.

Who gets the Calm trait and how

Only human infants can have the Calm trait, and it does not conflict with other traits. It suits players who prefer dealing with Sad emotions rather than Angry emotions when an infant is tired.

You can pick the Calm trait in Create a Sim, or use the cheat console in Live mode. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the console.
