The Erratic trait is a base game personality trait in The Sims 4. You can assign it to human Sims from the Child stage through the Elder stage. It gives Sims 5 trait moodlets and factors into the tests for 4 interactions.

You can select this trait in Create a Sim or add it during Live mode with a cheat. A Sim can also receive the Erratic trait through the Cloning interaction. This trait conflicts with the Wise trait.

The Erratic trait adds 5 moodlets that pull a Sim toward Flirty, Angry, Happy, or Sad emotions. Each moodlet has a weight of 1, which is a mild pull on your Sim's overall mood. The Charming Reflection moodlet lasts 4 hours, while the other moodlets last 3 hours in Sim time.

This trait does not use always-on moodlets, moodlet replacements, hidden multipliers, or career pay bonuses. In gameplay, 4 interactions check for the Erratic trait during their tests. These include Play In, Talk To, Treadmill Accident, and Troll teh Forums.

How to get or remove the Erratic trait

Human Sims can have the Erratic trait at the Child, Teen, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder ages. It conflicts with the Wise trait, so a Sim cannot have both traits at the same time. You can pick it directly in Create a Sim or get it from the Cloning interaction.
