This trait changes how fast your cat loses its Affection need. The game files list two identical effects where the Affection need drains ×2 as fast. Hidden multipliers in the game multiply together with other effects.

The Friendly trait for cats does not add any moodlets or replace existing ones. In addition, 0 interactions in the game files check for this specific trait.

Who gets the Friendly trait and trait conflicts

Cats can have this trait at the Infant, Child, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder ages. You cannot pair it with the Territorial trait because the two traits conflict. You can pick the trait in Create a Sim when you make a household.

You can also add or remove the trait in Live mode using the cheat console. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the box. Type traits.equip_trait trait_Pet_Friendly_Cat to add the trait, or traits.remove_trait trait_Pet_Friendly_Cat to remove it. These cheats do not require you to turn on testing cheats first.
