What the Cat Lover trait changes in play

This trait gives your Sim 4 specific moodlets. Two of these moodlets make your Sim Happy with a weight of 2. The Kitty moodlet lasts 3 hours, while the A Cat to Call My Own moodlet lasts 6 hours.

The other two moodlets make your Sim Sad for 1 day, which is 1,440 Sim minutes. A Fuzzy Goodbye has a Sad weight of 4, and Purr No More has a Sad weight of 5. Because the emotion with the largest total weight sets your Sim's mood, these Sad moodlets pull hard toward sadness.

In social play, the trait unlocks 1 interaction that checks for it. Your Sim can use the Share Love of Cats interaction when talking to others. The trait does not add any hidden multiplier effects, moodlet replacements, or career pay bonuses.
