The Jealous trait is a base game personality trait in The Sims 4. You can assign it to Teen, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder human Sims.

It gives your Sim 5 special moodlets and connects to 3 interactions. It does not add any hidden multiplier effects or career pay bonuses.

What the Jealous trait changes in play

This trait adds 5 moodlets that pull your Sim toward different emotions. Jealous Fury gives an Angry weight of 3 for 4 hours. Envious adds a Sad weight of 1 for 4 hours, while Jealous Pangs gives an Uncomfortable weight of 1 for 3 hours.

Two other moodlets have no timer and last while their cause lasts. All Mine adds a Confident weight of 1, and Feeling Insecure adds a Tense weight of 1. The emotion with the highest total weight becomes your Sim's current mood.

The game also checks for the Jealous trait on 3 interactions. Your Sim can use Be Jealous, Complain About Love Life, and Share Insecurities. The trait does not replace any usual moodlets or add hidden multipliers.

Who can get the Jealous trait and how

Human Sims from the Teen age up to Elder can have this personality trait. It conflicts with the Lovebug trait, so your Sim cannot have both at the same time.

You can pick the Jealous trait in Create a Sim. You can also add or remove it in Live mode using the cheat console.

Open the cheat console and enter traits.equip_trait trait_Jealous to add it. Enter traits.remove_trait trait_Jealous to remove it. These cheats do not need testingcheats true.
