Self-Absorbed is a personality trait in the Get Famous pack. You can pick it for human Sims who are Teens, Young Adults, Adults, or Elders.

This trait adds 9 unique moodlets and replaces standard Sad moodlets with Angry or Tense ones. It has no conflicts with other traits and gives no career pay bonuses.

What the Self-Absorbed trait changes in play

This trait replaces standard Sad moodlets. Instead of the Forgotten Birthday moodlet, your Sim gets the Great Friends I Have moodlet, which gives an Angry weight of 2 for 12 hours. The Lonely and Very Lonely moodlets become Hungry for Attention, adding a Tense weight of 1 for 2 hours.

Your Sim also gets 9 unique moodlets from this trait. Several give a Confident weight of 1, such as Born for This for 6 hours, or Recognized Icon and Simsta-Famous for 2 hours. Others like Flattered and So Popular give a Happy weight of 1 for 2 hours.

Not every unique moodlet is positive. Your Sim can get Tense moodlets like Lacking Anonymous Attention for 2 hours, or Out of the Spotlight with no timer. This trait does not add hidden multiplier effects or special interaction checks.

How to get the Self-Absorbed trait

This trait suits Teen, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder human Sims when you want Confident, Happy, Energized, or Tense moods. Because it has no trait conflicts, you can combine it with any other personality traits in Create a Sim.

You can select the trait in Create a Sim or use a cheat in Live mode. Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac. Type traits.equip_trait trait_SelfAbsorbed to add it, or traits.remove_trait trait_SelfAbsorbed to remove it without needing testingcheats true.
