How to restore a BitLife purchase

Restore Bitizenship, God Mode and packs on a new phone, fix a restore that fails, contact BitLife support, and get a refund from Apple or Google.

On iPhone, open Settings from the BitLife Main Menu and tap “Restore Earlier Purchase…”. On Android, sign in to the same Google Play account and open the game again. The purchase comes back at no cost.

We took these steps from the BitLife help page by Candywriter, the studio that makes the game. We read it on October 30, 2026. Candywriter can move a button in an update, so your menu can look a little different.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Sign in to the App Store with the Apple ID that you used to buy.
  2. Open BitLife and go to the Main Menu.
  3. Open Settings.
  4. Tap “Restore Earlier Purchase…”.

The help page says: “As long as you’re using the same Apple ID, your earlier purchase will be restored at no cost.”

On Android

  1. Open the settings of your phone and check your Google account.
  2. Make sure it is the Google Play account that you used to buy.
  3. Close BitLife fully, then open it again.

The help page says that the purchase restores the next time you launch the app. The help page names no button for Android.

If you bought in the BitLife Store

Some purchases come from the BitLife Store, not from Apple or Google. For these, open the Main Menu and select “My BitLife Account”. Log in with the account that you used to buy. Then use the restore button in Settings. The help page says to contact customer support if the purchase still does not show.

Yes, if the new phone uses the same platform and the same account. An iPhone purchase moves to a new iPhone. An Android purchase moves to a new Android phone.

You cannot move purchases from iPhone to Android, or from Android to iPhone. The help page says: “it’s not possible to transfer purchases made on an Android device to an iOS device or vice-versa.” If you change platform, you must buy again.

Which BitLife purchases come back?

The App Store page lists the in-app purchases below. The help page says that the Time Machine is the exception, because you can buy it more than one time.

PurchaseDoes a restore bring it back?
BitizenshipYes, on the same account and platform
God ModeYes, on the same account and platform
Bitizenship + God ModeYes, on the same account and platform
Boss ModeYes, on the same account and platform
Landlord, Investor, C.U.L.T. packsYes, on the same account and platform
Remove AdsYes, on the same account and platform
Time Machine UseNo. You can buy it many times, and a used one is gone.

Apple gives the same rule for all apps. Its support page says: “You can’t restore consumable purchases.” A consumable is an item that runs out when you use it.

We do not print prices here. For what each item costs and does, read what you pay for in BitLife. For the powers that God Mode gives, read our BitLife God Mode guide.

Is BitLife a subscription?

No. The App Store page lists one-time purchases and no subscription. So you have nothing to cancel, and a restore brings back an item, not a plan.

The most common cause is a different account. The help page tells you to check that you use “exactly the same Apple ID or Google Play Services account”. Apple and Google keep your purchase history, so you do not need to buy again.

You use a different Apple ID or Google account

A purchase belongs to the account that paid, not to the phone. Check the account in your phone settings. If you have two Google accounts, Google says that a missing purchase can be on the other one. Switch to the right account, then restore.

You moved from iPhone to Android, or back

The restore cannot work in this case. Purchases stay on the platform where you paid. Go back to a phone of the old platform to use them.

The item was a Time Machine

A used Time Machine does not come back. The help page lists it as the one exception to the restore rule.

You bought in the BitLife Store

A store purchase needs a login in “My BitLife Account” first. A restore with only your Apple ID or Google account will not find it.

A family member paid

Apple lets each developer choose if family members can share an in-app purchase. The BitLife App Store page showed no Family Sharing note when we checked. We found no statement on this from Candywriter. If a parent paid on another Apple ID, ask support before you buy again.

The payment is stuck

The help page says that purchases can get stuck in the payment process. It gives these steps:

  1. Sign out of your Apple ID or Google Play account.
  2. Sign in again and try the restore again.
  3. Close BitLife fully, open it again, and try one more time.

Apple also tells you to restart your phone and to allow in-app purchases in your settings. Google tells you to check your internet connection and your date and time settings. Google also tells you to force stop the app and update the Play Store.

Your purchase came from a language app

Candywriter is retiring its standalone language apps. The help page says that saved lives and purchases stay in the old app. They do not come with you to BitLife. Contact customer service to ask about them.

No. A restore brings back what you paid for. It does not bring back your saved lives, ribbons, heirlooms, or achievements.

The help page says that BitLife saves your lives automatically as you age up. But it also says that data is lost if you delete or reinstall the app. If data disappears without a delete, email support. Give them the missing data, your device model, and your OS version.

An update can also reset a save. The help page says that a save sometimes resets when the game adds new content. It gives no way to recover it. Read what the Business Update changed for an example of a large update.

We did not find an official way to copy saved lives to a new phone. Expect your purchases to move, and your lives to stay behind.

Email support@bitlifeapp.com, or tap the “Help” button in the BitLife menu. The help page and the Google Play page both give this email address.

The official ways to contact BitLife support

WayWhere to find it
In the gameThe “Help” button in the BitLife menu
Emailsupport@bitlifeapp.com
Web form“Still stuck? Message us.” at the bottom of bitlifeapp.com/help
Backup formThe help page links a Zendesk form if its own form does not send

What to put in your message

The help page asks for your BitLife username and your device for purchase problems. The web form also asks for these details:

  • Your BitLife ID
  • Your platform, iOS or Android
  • The app version and the OS version
  • Your device
  • A screenshot or a short video, if you have one

Add the date of the purchase and the name of the item. A receipt from Apple or Google also helps to show the purchase.

Is there a BitLife phone number?

We found no phone number on the help page, the App Store page, or the Google Play page. The Candywriter website lists no support contact. It links to bitlifeapp.com. Do not trust a “BitLife support number” on another website.

Ask Apple or Google, not Candywriter. The help page says: “we do not process your purchases directly.” The store that took your money decides on a refund.

The BitLife terms of service also say that all purchases of virtual items are final. So a refund from the store is your main option. Neither store promises a refund.

Refund on iPhone

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in.
  2. Tap “I’d like to,” then “Request a refund.”
  3. Choose the reason, then choose the BitLife item.
  4. Submit the request.

Apple says to wait 24 to 48 hours for an update. You cannot ask about a pending charge until you get the email receipt.

Refund on Android

  1. Go to play.google.com and click your profile picture.
  2. Open Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history.
  3. Find the BitLife order and choose “Report a problem.”
  4. Fill in the form, say that you want a refund, and submit it.

Google says that you usually get a decision within one day, and at most in four days. If more than 48 hours have passed since the purchase, Google tells you to contact the developer. For BitLife, that is support@bitlifeapp.com.

No safe one. Sites that offer a “free purchase” trick or a hacked BitLife APK are not from Candywriter. Do not use them.

The BitLife terms of service forbid cheats, hacks, and game files that do not come from Candywriter. They also forbid the use of bugs to avoid payments. Candywriter can suspend or end your account if you break the terms.

Modded apps can also harm your phone. In September 2024, Kaspersky found the Necro Trojan in game mods from unofficial sites. Get BitLife only from the App Store or Google Play. Our list of BitLife hacks that work has tricks that stay inside the rules.

Yes. LifeSim is our game. It is free to play, with no ads, no subscription, and nothing to buy. So there is no purchase to lose when you change phones.

LifeSim plays in any web browser at play.lifesim.com, and there is an iPhone app. You pick a real city on a 3D map of the real Earth and live one life there, day by day. The people are AI characters who remember you.

It is not a copy of BitLife. It has no packs, no God Mode, and no fast lives in a few minutes. If you want those, stay with BitLife. See how LifeSim compares to BitLife.

Where is the Restore Earlier Purchase button in BitLife?

Open the Main Menu, then Settings. The button is on the Settings screen on iPhone.

Do I have to pay again for Bitizenship on a new phone?

No, if the new phone uses the same platform and the same Apple ID or Google account. Yes, if you move between iPhone and Android.

Why did my Bitizenship disappear after an update?

Try the restore first. Apple and Google keep your purchase history. If the restore fails, email support@bitlifeapp.com with your username and device.

Can I restore a Time Machine?

No. The help page says that you can buy it more than one time, so it does not restore.

Does BitLife support answer about refunds?

Apple and Google handle the payments, so ask them first. On Google Play, contact the developer after 48 hours.
