Get famous in BitLife the fast way, the free way, or the instant way

Become famous in BitLife as an actor, musician, model, writer or DJ, or date a celebrity. Learn the fastest way, how to keep fame, and the ribbon.

Pick a job that the public sees, do it well, and keep your stats high. Actor, musician, model, writer, DJ, and athlete all can make you famous. You can also get famous on social media, or by dating someone who is already famous.

The fastest way is the Celebrity Dating App, if you have $100,000. The only instant way is the Hollywood Star, a paid item. Both are below.

We checked each fact on October 19, 2026, against the BitLife Help Center and game guides. Some guides are from 2020, and Candywriter changes the game with updates. Where the sources disagree or look old, we say so.

A Destructoid guide from March 2026 lists 14 ways to fame. The table groups the main ones. It also shows if a way needs a paid pack.

DJNoA normal job. It does not need the Musician pack.
WriterNoYou need high smarts. Read books and go to university.
Social mediaNoSlow, and it depends on luck.
Date a celebrityNo pack named in our sources$100,000 for each match in the app.
RoyaltyNo pack named in our sourcesBe born royal, or date and marry a royal.

Destructoid also names magician, reporter, app developer, and porn star. Touch, Tap, Play says that any entertainment job can make you famous if your work is good.

Careers with a pack

The Help Center says that Job Packs add special careers, such as Actor, Musician, Pro Athlete, and Politician. Boss Mode is a one-time purchase that unlocks all current and future Job Packs. For the steps, read our guides on the actor career, modeling auditions, and pro sports.

Free careers

You can get famous without a pack. Destructoid says the DJ job does not need the Musician pack. Its ribbon guide names chef, DJ, and writer as free jobs that can lead to fame.

Without money for the store, use the Celebrity Dating App. Destructoid calls dating a celebrity “by far the easiest way to become famous.” You need to win over one person, not climb a whole career.

  1. Earn $100,000 or more. Each match in the app costs $100,000 of game money.
  2. Open Activities, then Love, then the Celebrity Dating App.
  3. Pick a type of celebrity. Destructoid lists athlete, actor, musician, model, influencer, CEO, and royal.
  4. Go on dates and keep the relationship good.
  5. Wait. Fame from a partner does not come in one year.

Expect some failures. Destructoid says a celebrity can ignore you if you are not famous. Then you pay again for a new match.

Fame from a partner can show as the “famous socialite” title. Shacknews says the title comes after a time with rich, famous partners. It gives no number of years. A royal partner is also an option, so read our guide on how to become royalty in BitLife.

The instant way: the Hollywood Star

The Help Center says the Hollywood Star is a one-time purchase. It makes you famous right away in jobs where fame is possible. It names Actor, Writer, Musician, Athlete, and CEO. For a politician, it works only from Governor and higher.

You can turn its power on or off in the Items menu, under Collectibles. The Help Center does not give a price. Check the store in your game.

Do the fame activities often, keep your job performance high, and keep posting on social media. Fame is a stat, so check it after each year.

Before you are famous

  • Keep your stats high. Destructoid says to keep Happiness, Health, Smarts, and Looks high.
  • Raise your looks. Touch, Tap, Play says that looks of about 70% or higher make it easier to get good jobs.
  • Start lessons as a child. Destructoid says that voice and instrument lessons are free in childhood. As an adult, you pay for them.
  • Keep the job meter green. Touch, Tap, Play says that good work for a long time makes you famous.

After you are famous

When you become famous, the game tells you. A Fame menu then shows in Activities. Destructoid lists four options there. You can write a book, do a commercial, pose for a photo shoot, or go on a talk show.

Watch your stats after each one. Touch, Tap, Play says that some fame activities give money but lower your fame a little. Use the activities that raise fame, and use them every year.

Grow on social media

Make accounts early. A 2020 Level Winner guide says you can have accounts on five platforms by age 13. Touch, Tap, Play says that a verified account and more followers make you “social media famous.”

Guides from 2020 give about 100,000 followers for verification. That number may be old. Touch, Tap, Play also warns that bought followers can get your account suspended.

Fame drops when you stop the work that made you famous. It also drops when you age without fame activities. Touch, Tap, Play says: “Every year you age without doing enough fame activities will drop your fame stat.”

  • You quit your job. Our athlete guide notes that fame falls when an athlete stops practicing.
  • You skip the Fame menu. Do at least one fame activity each year.
  • You pick the wrong activity. Some activities pay you but take fame away.
  • You get older. Touch, Tap, Play says that fame is harder to get back than to keep, mostly when you are old.

If fame drops too low, you lose your famous status. Then you must build it again from the start.

Fame unlocks the Fame menu in Activities. It also helps you get the Famous ribbon at the end of a life. Some challenges need it too.

The Famous ribbon

A Destructoid ribbon guide from June 2025 gives the condition: “Become famous through any means necessary.” Stay famous until your character dies. The guide says Famous has priority over the money ribbons, so a rich, famous life still gets Famous.

This works in both directions. Fame blocks other ribbons, such as Loaded, Geriatric, Globetrotter, Successful, and Mediocre. If you want one of those, do not become famous.

Challenges that need fame

Destructoid names Kahlo My Life and Gatsby as challenges with a fame step. The Breakout Star challenge from August 2026 mixes fame with crime and a prison escape. Find more in our list of BitLife challenges.

Paparazzi and other events

Players ask about paparazzi events for famous characters. We could not find a source that we trust which describes them. So we do not list them here.

Crime is not a way to fame in the guides we checked. None of them lists crime as a way to become famous. The Breakout Star challenge asks for fame and crime, but you get the fame from a normal way.

Fame does not end in prison. Destructoid says you keep some fame after an escape from a maximum security prison. Our prison escape guide has the steps.

Bitizenship is not the key to fame. The Help Center lists its features, and fame is not one of them. The fame purchase is the Hollywood Star. God Mode lets you edit your character’s stats, such as looks. High looks help with the jobs that lead to fame.

Some older guides say that Bitizenship opens the political career. Newer guides point to the Politician pack, as our guide to becoming president explains.

You are on the LifeSim blog, so here is where LifeSim fits. In BitLife, fame is a stat, and a menu raises it. LifeSim does not work that way.

In LifeSim, you live one life in a real city on a 3D map of Earth. People talk to you in their own words. They remember what you did, and the clock runs on its own.

LifeSim is free, and it has no in-app purchases. It is slower than BitLife, and it has no fame menu. Stay with BitLife if you want many quick lives. For the full comparison, read LifeSim vs BitLife, or see how to play LifeSim.
