How to start

  • Create the generation one heir with the Mint traits, aspiration and career.
  • Lifespan stays on Normal.
  • Money cheats are allowed but should be light, for example only to pay for the first home.
  • You may live anywhere and move freely unless a generation says otherwise.

The rules

  • There are ten generations, each tied to a color.
  • Each heir has three set traits, a set aspiration and a set career.
  • Each heir should max their career and finish their aspiration unless their generation says otherwise.
  • Each generation also has its own list of extra goals.
  • Dressing the heir and decorating the home in the generation color is optional but encouraged.
  • The heir's partner has no color or rule limits unless a generation says so.
  • If you lack a pack a generation needs, swap that item for something from the base game or a pack you own.
  • You may drop any rule you dislike; the authors say the point is fun.

The Blue (tenth) heir finishes all of their generation goals.

Tips

  • Mint needs Get to Work: the elements come from collecting and breaking open geodes and from mining rocks, so pick up every rock you find from day one.
  • Plan Orange early: twins can't be forced without cheats or mods, and the creators allow cheating for this goal, so decide your method before the pregnancy.
  • Max a career fast by having the heir do the career's daily task and keep a good mood before work; a focused or inspired mood helps the matching skills too.
