The Maker trait is a personality trait in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle. You can give it to human Sims from the Teen age up to Elder.

This trait adds 2 unique moodlets that push your Sim toward Happy or Sad moods. It does not add any hidden skill multipliers or career pay bonuses.

How the Maker trait changes gameplay

The Maker trait works entirely through its 2 custom moodlets. The Makin' Materials moodlet gives a Happy emotion with a weight of 1 for 4 hours, or 240 Sim minutes. The Idle Hands moodlet gives a Sad emotion with a weight of 1 for 2 hours, or 120 Sim minutes.

Moodlet weight shows how hard a feeling pulls toward its emotion, and the largest total weight sets your Sim's mood. The game files list 0 interactions that check for this trait, and it has no hidden effect multipliers. It also does not replace any standard moodlets or grant any always-on moodlets.

Who can get the Maker trait

Only human Sims who are Teen, Young Adult, Adult, or Elder can have the Maker trait. You cannot pair it with the Lazy trait or the Clumsy trait, because they conflict.

You can pick the Maker trait in Create a Sim if you own the Eco Lifestyle pack. You can also add or remove it in Live mode using the cheat console. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the box.

Type traits.equip_trait trait_Maker to add the trait, or traits.remove_trait trait_Maker to remove it. These cheats do not need you to turn on testingcheats true first.
