The Rancher trait is a personality trait in The Sims 4 that comes with the Horse Ranch pack. You can give it to human Sims who are Teens, Young Adults, Adults, or Elders.

You pick the Rancher trait in Create a Sim or add it with a cheat in Live mode. It adds 3 unique moodlets to the game, and it conflicts with the Lazy and Squeamish traits.

The Rancher trait changes your Sim's mood through 3 custom moodlets, each with a weight of 1. The emotion with the largest total weight becomes your Sim's current mood.

Your Sim can get the Happy moodlet called Burden of Love, which lasts 2 hours in Sim time. They can also get a Tense moodlet called The Ranch Needs Me for 3 hours, or an Embarrassed moodlet called Bad Ranch Product for 1 hour.

Beyond these 3 moodlets, the trait does not change other numbers in the game. It has 0 interactions that check for it, and it gives no hidden multipliers, career pay bonuses, or moodlet replacements.

Who gets the Rancher trait and its conflicts

This personality trait works for human Sims from the Teen age up to Elder. A Rancher Sim cannot have the Lazy or Squeamish traits, because those conflict with it.
