The Skeptical trait is a Personality trait in The Sims 4 Life & Death pack. It is available for human Sims from the Child age up to Elder. It changes how your Sim reacts to ghosts and other events.

This trait adds 7 unique moodlets and replaces several standard reactions. It also unlocks the Demand Proof of Powers interaction. You cannot combine it with the Macabre or Mystical traits.

What the Skeptical trait changes in gameplay

Skeptical Sims do not react to ghosts and several other events like other Sims. When a ghost startles a regular Sim, that Sim gets a Scared moodlet for 4 hours. A Skeptical Sim instead gets a Confident moodlet for 5 hours or a Tense moodlet for 4 hours.

This trait also replaces several other moodlets with the Confident moodlet named Cool Trick Bro. Instead of feeling Sad from In the Feels or Angry from Bubbled Trouble, your Sim feels Confident for 5 hours. It does the same for Holistic Healing, Universal Vibrations, and Tapped In.

Your Sim also gets 7 special moodlets from this trait. They can feel Confident for 6 hours with I Knew That Was Fake, or Dazed for 4 hours with It Can't Be. In addition, the game checks for this trait to allow the Demand Proof of Powers interaction.

Who it suits, conflicts, and how to get it

This trait suits human Sims who want to stay Confident instead of feeling Scared, Sad, or Uncomfortable. You can give it to a Child, Teen, Young Adult, Adult, or Elder. However, a Skeptical Sim cannot have the Macabre trait or the Mystical trait.

You can pick the Skeptical trait in Create a Sim if you own the Life & Death pack. You can also add or remove it in Live mode using the cheat console. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the box.

Type traits.equip_trait trait_Skeptical to add the trait to your active Sim. Type traits.remove_trait trait_Skeptical to take it away. You do not need to turn on testing cheats first.
