Packs
Not strictly required. The rules are built around many packs (Get Famous, City Living, Get Together, Parenthood, Vampires, Island Living, Realm of Magic, StrangerVille). The creator marks pack items and gives base-game swaps for some: Painter for Art Critic, Business or Detective for Politics, Athlete for Military, Chief of Mischief or a small retail lot for the potion seller, Angling Ace for Spellcaster.

How to start

  • The founder is a young adult of any gender and any life state except vampire.
  • Aging on, set to normal or short, for everyone.
  • Money cheats are the one allowed cheat: set household funds however you like.
  • Only the legacy family may be played in this save.

The rules

  • No cheats apart from money; resetting a stuck Sim is fine. Built-in game quirks that feel like cheating may be used.
  • Do not restart after bad events; work around them.
  • Each heir must finish their generation's requirements before becoming an elder, unless a generation says to wait.
  • Move to the next heir when the current one becomes an elder, or when the requirements are done and the next heir is a teen (or if the heir dies).
  • Play the generations in the given order.
  • An heir cannot change aspiration until the assigned one is done, and no cheating aspiration milestones.
  • Heirs may only take their own generation's reward trait(s). Banned: Quirk Remover, re-traiting and Potion of Youth (except where a generation allows it), plus the magic purge, curse-cleanse, rejuvenation, resurrection and immortality potions and the dedeathify spell.
  • Heirs are born through try for baby or adopted as baby or toddler. No mods or cheats that make pregnancy easier.
  • Spouses may be townies or made by you, with any job, traits and aspiration that do not break the generation's rules; they may not buy rewards that help the heir.
  • Gameplay-fixing mods (MCCC and similar) and CC are fine; avoid mods that make the game easier.

How you win

Complete the requirements of all fourteen generations, ending with The Gerascophobic. You may continue after that with an optional second adopted child.

Tips

  • Choose each heir as a toddler, because several generations set toddler skills, a childhood aspiration or skills the child must never learn.
  • Money cheats are allowed, so use them to set up big builds like the tower, graveyard lot or mirror-filled home instead of grinding for cash.
  • Generation 3 marries the childhood best friend late in life, so build that friendship during childhood in generation 2 and keep it up.
