Death by Flowers

A Sim older than an adult who smells a flower arrangement made with a Death Flower dies. Safe: Servo, Vampire, pregnant Sims.

To cause Death by Flowers in The Sims 4, you need the Seasons expansion pack. First, you make a flower arrangement with a Death Flower. Next, you give the finished arrangement to an elder Sim.

This death has a certain outcome for Sims older than an adult. When an elder smells the flower arrangement made with a Death Flower, they die. Younger Sims only smell the arrangement and do not die from it.

How to make it happen

The game never lets this death happen to: Servo, Vampire, pregnant Sims.

These moodlets stop it before the end: Death-Proof, Total Immortal, Feeling Grim, Grimness Intensifies, Grim Overload, Grimbucha'd.

The ghost

A Sim who dies this way becomes a ghost with the trait Death by Flowers. The game gives each death type its own ghost trait.

To bring the ghost back to life with a cheat, type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_DeathFlower. Removing its last ghost trait makes the Sim alive again.

To stop your Sims from dying at all, type death.toggle false (what death.toggle does).

How the Death Flower arrangement kills Sims

The process requires you to make a flower arrangement with a Death Flower from the Seasons pack. After you finish the arrangement, you give it to an elder. The elder smells the arrangement and dies.

This death is certain, which means it does not use random odds or a countdown timer. There is no warning before the death happens. If the Sim is older than an adult and lacks protection, smelling the arrangement kills them.

Who is safe from Death by Flowers

Age and occult status protect certain Sims from this death. Teens, young adults, and adults only smell the arrangement and survive. Vampires are immune to Death by Flowers, and giving the arrangement to the Grim Reaper does not kill anyone.

Specific conditions also save an elder from dying. A Sim stays safe if they have Death-Proof, Total Immortal, or Grimbucha'd. Feeling Grim, Grimness Intensifies, and Grim Overload also protect the Sim.

You can also prevent this death with a cheat in Live mode. Open the cheat console and type death.toggle false to switch death off. This stops every death that runs through a death interaction, though Sims can still become ghosts by other means.

The Death by Flowers ghost and resurrection

When an elder dies this way, they become a Death by Flowers ghost. The game gives the Sim the trait_Ghost_DeathFlower trait. In the game files, this death type is DeathFlowerArrangement with tuning ID 190748.

You can bring a ghost in your household back to life using the cheat console in Live mode. and Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac. Then type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_DeathFlower to remove the ghost trait and resurrect the Sim.
