A Sim poisoned in Selvadorada dies if the poison isn't cured in time. From getting poisoned to death, without an antidote: 4,320 Sim minutes. Safe: Servo, pregnant Sims.

To die of poison in The Sims 4, your Sim needs the Jungle Adventure game pack. Your Sim must first get poisoned in Selvadorada. After that, you simply leave the poison untreated until the countdown runs out.

This death works on a strict timer rather than random chance. Once poisoned, your Sim has 4,320 Sim-minutes to drink an antidote. If you do not cure the condition before the timer hits zero, your Sim dies.

How to make it happen

  1. Get poisoned in Jungle Adventure: by a spider, a scorpion, a bee, a poison dart, poison gas, a gate trap, a relic curse or a ghost.
  2. Leave the poison untreated.

How to avoid it

  1. Drink an antidote while the Sim is Poisoned.
  2. Type death.toggle false to switch death off.

The game never lets this death happen to: Servo, pregnant Sims.

The ghost

A Sim who dies this way becomes a ghost with the trait Death by Poison. The game gives each death type its own ghost trait.

To bring the ghost back to life with a cheat, type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_Poison. Removing its last ghost trait makes the Sim alive again.

To stop your Sims from dying at all, type death.toggle false (what death.toggle does).

How the poison timer kills your Sim

Several hazards in Jungle Adventure can poison your Sim. Wildlife threats include a spider, a scorpion, or a bee. Your Sim can also get poisoned by a poison dart, poison gas, or a gate trap.

Supernatural hazards like a relic curse or a ghost can also poison your Sim. Once poisoned, a hidden commodity starts at 4,320 and drops by 1 every Sim-minute. You have 4,320 Sim-minutes to save your Sim before this value reaches 0.

The game gives your Sim the Overwhelmingly Poisoned moodlet as a warning. This moodlet alerts you to the danger of the untreated poison. When the 4,320 Sim-minute timer fails at 0, your Sim dies.

How to survive or prevent poison death

The normal way to save a poisoned Sim is to drink an antidote. You must do this while the Sim is still poisoned and before the 4,320 Sim-minute timer reaches 0. Certain states also save your Sim from dying, including Death-Proof and Total Immortal.

Grim-related states also protect your Sim from this death. These include Feeling Grim, Grimness Intensifies, Grim Overload, and Grimbucha'd. If your Sim has any of these states, the poison will not kill them.

You can also stop the death using the cheat console in Live mode. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the box. Type death.toggle false to stop every death that runs through a death interaction.

The poison ghost and how to resurrect

When a Sim dies from untreated poison, they become a ghost. The game assigns the trait_Ghost_Poison trait to the Sim. This trait marks their death type as Death by Poison.

You can bring a poisoned ghost back to life with a cheat in Live mode. First, make sure the ghost is part of your active household. Then open the cheat console.

Next, type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_Poison into the console and press Enter. Removing this ghost trait from a ghost in your household immediately brings the Sim back to life.
