A Sim who keeps provoking a very angry pet crow can be swarmed by a murder of crows. The chance is 50% per provocation. Safe: Servo, pregnant Sims.

Death by Murder of Crows is a chance death in The Sims 4 Life & Death expansion pack. You trigger it when your Sim provokes a very angry pet crow. If a Sim keeps provoking the bird while the Feathers Will Fly moodlet is active, crows can swarm them.

Each provocation while the warning moodlet shows has a 50% base chance to kill the Sim. You can avoid this outcome by leaving the bird alone when the warning appears. You can also turn off death interacciones in the cheat console.

How to make it happen

  1. Provoke a pet crow (Life & Death) until it's very angry.
  2. Provoke it again while Feathers Will Fly is showing.

How to avoid it

  1. Stop provoking the crow when Feathers Will Fly appears.
  2. Type death.toggle false to switch death off.

The game never lets this death happen to: Servo, pregnant Sims.

These moodlets stop it before the end: Death-Proof, Total Immortal, Feeling Grim, Grimness Intensifies, Grim Overload, Grimbucha'd.

The ghost

A Sim who dies this way becomes a ghost with the trait Death by Murder of Crows. The game gives each death type its own ghost trait.

To bring the ghost back to life with a cheat, type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_PetCrow. Removing its last ghost trait makes the Sim alive again.

To stop your Sims from dying at all, type death.toggle false (what death.toggle does).

How provoking a pet crow kills a Sim

First, you need a pet crow from the Life & Death pack. Direct your Sim to provoke the bird repeatedly until it becomes very angry. At this point, your Sim receives the Feathers Will Fly warning moodlet.

If you provoke the very angry crow again during this warning, the game rolls for death. Each provocation carries a 50% base chance to trigger a fatal crow swarm. The other 50% outcome lets your Sim survive that interaction.

Nothing modifies this 50% rate, so the odds stay equal every time you provoke the bird. If you want your Sim to live, stop using mean interactions as soon as Feathers Will Fly appears.

What protects Sims from a murder of crows

No traits, moods, or objects change the 50% death chance when provoking a very angry crow. However, six specific states save a Sim from dying this way. Sims with Death-Proof or Total Immortal are safe from the swarm.

Four Grim-related states also protect your Sim from this death. These saving states are Feeling Grim, Grimness Intensifies, Grim Overload, and Grimbucha'd. You can also protect Sims by disabling death in the cheat console.

Open the cheat console in Live mode with Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac. Type testingcheats true, then enter death.toggle false to stop every death that runs through a death interaction. This cheat does not stop a Sim from turning into a ghost by other means.

The Murder of Crows ghost and resurrection

When a Sim dies from a crow attack, they receive the Death by Murder of Crows ghost trait. If the ghost is in your household, you can bring the Sim back to life with a cheat.

Open the cheat console in Live mode. Type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_PetCrow and press Enter. Removing this ghost trait from a ghost in your household restores the Sim to life right away.
