How do you die of killer rabbit in The Sims 4?
Death by Killer Rabbit
A Sim who keeps provoking a killer rabbit after surviving its attack can be killed by it. The chance is 75.19% per attack. Safe: pregnant Sims.
To cause Death by Killer Rabbit in The Sims 4, you need the Cottage Living expansion pack. You must provoke a killer rabbit until it attacks your Sim, and then provoke it again after your Sim survives. The second attack must happen while your Sim still has a rabbit attack moodlet.
When the rabbit attacks for the second time, the game rolls a 75.19% base chance to kill your Sim. Because the odds are high, most Sims die on the second attack. You can prevent this death by walking away after the first fight.

How to make it happen
- Provoke a killer rabbit (Cottage Living) until it attacks.
- Provoke it again while a rabbit attack moodlet is showing.
How to avoid it
- Leave the rabbit alone until the moodlet wears off.
- Pregnant Sims don't get the deadly outcome.
- Type death.toggle false to switch death off.
The game never lets this death happen to: pregnant Sims.
These moodlets stop it before the end: Death-Proof, Total Immortal, Feeling Grim, Grimness Intensifies, Grim Overload, Grimbucha'd.
The ghost
A Sim who dies this way becomes a ghost with the trait Death by Killer Rabbit. The game gives each death type its own ghost trait.
Every ghost type and its powers are on the ghosts page.
To bring the ghost back to life with a cheat, type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_AnimalObjects_KillerRabbit. Removing its last ghost trait makes the Sim alive again.
To stop your Sims from dying at all, type death.toggle false (what death.toggle does).
How the killer rabbit attack works in play
First, provoke a killer rabbit from the Cottage Living pack until it attacks your Sim. If your Sim survives this fight, a rabbit attack moodlet appears on your Sim. This moodlet acts as your warning sign.
Next, provoke the rabbit again while that rabbit attack moodlet is still active. If you wait too long and the moodlet disappears, the next attack will not trigger the death roll. You have to keep provoking the animal until a second fight starts.
Each time the rabbit attacks a Sim who already has the attack moodlet, the game draws from weighted outcomes. The deadly outcome has a weight of 10, which gives a 75.19% base chance of death per attack. Three non-deadly outcomes have weights of 1, 1, and 1.3, meaning your Sim rarely survives a repeat fight.
Who survives and what changes the rabbit odds
You can keep your Sim safe by leaving the rabbit alone until the attack moodlet wears off. Pregnant Sims never get the deadly outcome from a killer rabbit attack. Certain conditions also save your Sim from dying, including Death-Proof, Total Immortal, Feeling Grim, Grimness Intensifies, Grim Overload, and Grimbucha'd.
One specific moodlet changes the math slightly in your Sim's favor. If your Sim has the Trash Nectar Funk moodlet, the weight of the 1.3 survival outcome multiplies by 1.25. This makes surviving the repeat attack slightly more likely, though the death weight remains at 10.
You can also disable death entirely by using a cheat in Live mode. Open the cheat console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac. Type death.toggle false to stop every death that runs through a death interaction.
The killer rabbit ghost and how to resurrect
When a Sim dies from a repeat attack, they receive the Death by Killer Rabbit ghost trait. This turns your Sim into a ghost. Note that the death toggle cheat does not stop a Sim from turning into a ghost by other means.
You can bring a ghost in your household back to life at any time with a cheat. Open the cheat console in Live mode. Then type traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_AnimalObjects_KillerRabbit to remove the ghost trait and restore your Sim.
