The Sims 4 StrangerVille

StrangerVille is a game pack with a mystery story. It came out on February 26, 2019. Your Sim moves to a desert town where the locals act strangely. Your Sim then finds the cause in a secret lab and stops it.

We took the PC date, the item counts, and the needs from the EA page. We opened it on October 27, 2026. The price is from Steam on the same day. The console date and the other facts are from The Sims Wiki.

StrangerVille is a small desert town with a large crater outside it. The lab is in the crater. The Sims Wiki says that the town is based on desert towns in Arizona and Nevada.

The town has two neighborhoods, StrangerVille Plaza and Shady Acres. The bar is 8 Bells, and the library is the StrangerVille Information Center. Military people meet at the bar, and scientists work at the library. The Curio Shop stall is near the trailer park. It sells odd items and a secret inventory.

Four households live in the town. You can move your own Sims into any home there. The town has no apartments.

You finish the story when your Sim and three helpers defeat the Mother Plant in the lab. The SimsCommunity walkthrough puts the story in three parts. Follow these steps:

1. Talk to the locals about StrangerVille. Talk to scientists, military people, and the Curio Shop owner.
2. Go to the lab. Enter through the gap in the back of the fence. Examine the locked door and search the floor for evidence.
3. Collect 15 pieces of evidence. Research the archives at the library, plant bugs on scientists or military people, or ask friends among them.
4. Compile the Secret Dossier from the 15 pieces of evidence.
5. Show the dossier to a scientist, a military person, or the Curio Shop owner. You get a keycard. Open the sealed door with it.
6. Get an Infection Scanner from a military friend. Bribe them for §750, or ask them in other ways. Scan the lab for 15 spore clusters.
7. Use the 15 spore clusters at a chemical analyzer in the lab. You make the Infection Profile Data.
8. Ask a scientist friend for a Spore Filter. It comes in the mail the next day. Buy the hazmat suit from the Curio Shop’s secret inventory for §1,000.
9. Assemble the hazmat suit with the filter. Wear it, walk through the spore hallway, and find the Mother Plant.
10. Leave the Mother for now. Collect 15 more spore clusters and 3 bizarre fruit.
11. Make 3 experimental vaccines at the chemical analyzer. Test them on 3 possessed Sims. The third test works.
12. Make 3 real vaccines. Each vaccine needs 5 spore clusters and 1 bizarre fruit. Cure 3 Sims, make friends with them, and recruit them.
13. Make extra vaccines for the fight. The walkthrough suggests 5 more. Then go to the Mother with your team.

Get bizarre fruit from the Curio Shop. You can also use Nurture on a strange plant and pick the fruit. Do not eat the fruit. The next section tells you why.

You beat the Mother when you bring her health to zero and keep your team’s infection low. Click the Mother and choose Fight Mother With. Then pick your three helpers. Two bars at the top left show her health and your team’s infection.

Use the group commands to control the fight:

• Charge: the team does more damage but gets infected faster. Use it when infection is low.
• Be Careful: the team gets infected slower but does less damage.
• Take A Breather: the team heals some infection but does no damage.
• Warbling War Cry: the team scares off the Mother’s minions but does less damage.

Your own Sim can throw a vaccine, use Mega Spray, or retreat. The guide says the vaccines do more damage than the team. Throw them often. If your team loses, the Mother eats your Sim, and your Sim dies.

When you win, every infected Sim gets the cure. Your Sim gets a Mother Plant trophy. With the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration, your Sim also gets the Hero of StrangerVille trait and fan mail.

Use an infection vaccine on the infected Sim. A Sim gets the Infected trait from eating a bizarre fruit. The trait stays until a vaccine cures it. An infected Sim becomes possessed every night at 1 AM for 3 hours.

A possessed Sim walks strangely, talks about the Mother, and ignores many of your commands. The spore clouds in the lab also cause the possessed state. That state lasts only 30 minutes and gives no trait.

Cure an infected Sim in one of three ways:

1. Make a vaccine at the chemical analyzer and use it on the Sim.
2. Defeat the Mother. The Sims Wiki says that this removes the Infected trait from every Sim in the world.
3. Type testingcheats true, then traits.remove_trait Infected in the cheat console.

Is your own Sim infected? Readers of SimsCommunity give a tip. Drop a vaccine on the floor and have another Sim in the household pick it up. That Sim then throws it at your Sim. For more trait commands, see our full list of Sims 4 cheats.

The Military career has 10 levels and splits into two branches at level 6. The Sims Wiki calls it a semi-active career. Each level has a daily task, like Work Out or Spar With Others.

The Covert Operator branch works nights, from 6 PM to 2 AM. Its Sims plant bugs and listen to others. The Officer branch works from 10 AM to 6 PM on weekdays.

The career also helps the story. A SimGuru said that high-rank military Sims have their own ways through it. One example: Pull Rank gets the Infection Scanner at rank 5 or higher.

StrangerVille is worth it if you want a story to play through. The AU Review liked the mystery a lot. Its one complaint was the length. The reviewer said that fast players can finish the main story in a couple of hours.

The story is the same each time. A SimGuru said this before the release. He also said that the Military career, the world, and the objects keep the pack useful after the story.

It is less useful if you want a large world or new skills. The pack adds no skill, and the town is small. Compare it with the other packs in our list of every Sims 4 pack. You can also let the Sims 4 pack picker choose one.

• They eat a bizarre fruit. The Sim gets the Infected trait and becomes possessed every night.
• They walk into the spore hallway without the hazmat suit. The spores possess the Sim for 30 minutes.
• They fight the Mother alone. The Mother kills a Sim without a team.
• They bring only 3 vaccines. Make extra vaccines, because they do the most damage in the fight.
• They use Charge when infection is high. Use Be Careful or Take A Breather then.

Yes. The Sims Wiki says that it came out on consoles on May 14, 2019.

Can you play the StrangerVille story again?

Yes. Take a bizarre fruit to the dead Mother and choose Revive The Mother. Then use Request Weirdness to set the infection level.

Can you turn off the infection in StrangerVille?

Yes, after you defeat the Mother once. Make friends with the revived Mother. Then ask her to set the infection level to none.

How long is the StrangerVille story?

The AU Review says that fast players finish it in a couple of hours. A slower game takes longer.
