How to become a werewolf in Sims 4: Create a Sim, the Cursed Bite, Werebies, cheats, temperaments, abilities, Moonwood Mill packs and the cure.

How do you become a werewolf in The Sims 4?

You need the Werewolves Game Pack. Then you have four ways. You can make a werewolf in Create a Sim. You can ask a werewolf friend for the Cursed Bite. You can catch Werebies in the tunnels of Moonwood Mill. Or you can use a cheat.

EA released the pack on June 16, 2022. It adds the werewolf life state and the town of Moonwood Mill. The game also has a fifth way: a child can inherit the curse from a werewolf parent.

Make a werewolf in Create a Sim

This is the easiest way. Snooty Sims gives the path: “Add Occult Sim > Add Werewolf”. GGRecon says that you can also open the occult menu on the new Sim tab and click the werewolf icon. Gfinity adds that you can change the fur and the outfit of the wolf form.

Ask a werewolf for the Cursed Bite

First, make friends with a werewolf. The werewolf must have the Cursed Bite ability. Then ask the werewolf to turn you. Guides say that the two pack leaders are good friends to make. Kristopher Volkov leads the Moonwood Collective, and Rory Oaklow leads the Wildfangs.

Catch Werebies in the tunnels

Werebies is a disease. A wild wolf can bite or scratch your Sim in the underground tunnels of Moonwood Mill. GGRecon names three tunnels: the Sparring Ground Portal Potties, the Sewers Gate and the Bunker Entrance. A werewolf on a rampage can also give your Sim Werebies.

GGRecon says that the disease takes a couple of in-game days to show. Your Sim foams at the mouth, and the Hunger need drops fast. If you do nothing, the disease turns your Sim into a werewolf.

Be born a werewolf

A child with a werewolf parent can inherit the curse. GGRecon says that the curse shows fully when the child becomes a teen. For more on babies, read how to have a baby.

What are the werewolf cheats in Sims 4?

The main cheat is traits.equip_trait trait_occultwerewolf. It turns the selected Sim into a werewolf. First, open the cheat box and type testingcheats on.

On PC, press Ctrl + Shift + C. On Mac, press Cmd + Shift + C. On a console, press all four shoulder buttons. Dexerto lists these codes:

  • traits.equip_trait trait_occultwerewolf: make the Sim a werewolf.
  • traits.remove_trait trait_occultwerewolf: remove the werewolf life state.
  • stats.set_stat rankedStatistic_Werewolf_Progression [X]: give werewolf XP. Put a number in place of [X].
  • traits.equip_trait trait_OccultWerewolf_DormantWolf: add the Dormant Wolf trait.
  • traits.equip_trait trait_OccultWerewolf_Temperaments_BigBadWolf: add the Big Bad Wolf temperament.

Each temperament has its own code with the same start. Dexerto also lists the Carnivore and Anti-Capitalist Canine codes. To remove a trait, change “equip” to “remove”. For all other codes, read our list of Sims 4 cheats.

What do werewolf temperaments do?

Temperaments control how fast the Fury of a werewolf grows. EA says that each temperament “distinguishes how that Sim’s fury may grow.” TheGamer calls them “passive attributes”. They show under the Fury orb in the Needs panel.

How does Fury work?

EA says that the Fury of a werewolf always grows. Some actions make it grow faster. EA names werewolf powers, sparring, beast form, the full moon and acts against your temperaments. When Fury is full, the Sim changes into the wolf form. Snooty Sims says that the Sim then goes berserk. The Somber Howl ability can lower Fury.

How many temperaments are there?

TheGamer lists 22 temperaments. Dexerto says that a Sim can have up to four. Each temperament has a trigger. Here are some of them:

  • Anticapitalist Canine: your Sim finds a job.
  • Hates Being Wet: your Sim showers, swims or gets wet in the rain.
  • Carnivore: your Sim eats vegetarian food.
  • Wolf Brain: your Sim plays a lot of chess or has a job with high Logic.
  • Night Wolf: your Sim stays home on a full moon, or does not howl enough.
  • Grumpy Wolf: your Sim sleeps badly again and again.

The four Mark temperaments are different. They are Mark of the Night, the Forest, the Hunt and the Wolf. They come only from the Lunar Howl outside at a full moon. Temperaments are not the same as normal traits. For those, read the Sims 4 traits list.

What abilities do werewolves get?

A werewolf gets new abilities as it goes up in rank. Snooty Sims lists five werewolf ranks: Pup, Runt, Prime, Veteran and Apex. Each rank has five abilities. EA lists “running swiftly on all fours, marking their territory, lunar resistance, and even immortality.”

  • Pup: Wolf Nap, Territory Marking, Scavenger, Personal Grooming and Ferocity.
  • Runt: Somber Howl, Hunter, Voracious Hunger, The Will to Resist and Enhanced Smell.
  • Prime: Curse Bearer, Natural Healing, Lunar Blessing, Pack Howl and Nightvision.
  • Veteran: Lunar Resistance, Primal Instincts, Tunneler, Hunting Party and Vicious Howl.
  • Apex: Immortal Wolf, Super Speed, Legacy of the Lycan, Lunar Howl and Alpha Wolf.

What are dormant abilities?

Snooty Sims lists six dormant abilities. They are Werewolf Menace, Lunar Epiphany, Transformation Mastery, Werewolf Mentorship, Werewolf Empathy and Werewolf Diplomacy. Lunar Epiphany is important, because you need it for the cure. Gfinity says that your Sim gets it from books about wolves.

How do you join a werewolf pack in Moonwood Mill?

Make friends with the pack leader, then ask to join. Your Sim must be a werewolf to become a full member. EA says: “visit their hangout and get to know the pack.”

Moonwood Mill has two packs. EA calls the Moonwood Collective traditional and rustic. The Wildfangs are a rebel group with a punk and grunge style. Sims Community says that your Sim can be a friend of both packs. But your Sim can be a member of one pack only.

What are the pack trials?

Sims Community says that you pick three trials from a list of six. The six trials are:

  • Spar with the Alpha. You need Transformation Mastery.
  • Discuss Lunar Epiphany. You need Lunar Epiphany.
  • Demonstrate Scavenging. You need Scavenger.
  • Demonstrate Pack Howl. You need Pack Howl.
  • Give an uncommon or rare collectible.
  • Give food of excellent quality.

At a low werewolf rank, the last two trials and Demonstrate Scavenging are the easiest.

What are the pack ranks?

Pack ranks go from Omega to Delta, Beta and Alpha. A pack has one Alpha only. To become the Alpha, your Sim challenges the Alpha to a brawl or a tug-of-war. If your Sim wins, the old Alpha becomes a Beta. The Alpha can let Sims in, send them out, and promote or demote members.

How do you cure lycanthropy in Sims 4?

Make the Wolf-B-Gone drink and drink it in human form. The recipe needs three Moonpetals and ten Wolfsbane. A cheat also works: traits.remove_trait trait_occultwerewolf.

Werebies is a different problem. EA says that the Werebies remedy “is not the cure for lycanthropy”. Gfinity says that you can ask for the remedy at the bar in Moonwood Mill. Do this before the disease turns your Sim into a werewolf. GGRecon also names two home actions. Use “Try to Sweat Werebies Out” on a bed. Use “Try to Cleanse Self of Werebies” in a shower.

Step 1: Get Lunar Epiphany

Read books about werewolves until your Sim gets the Lunar Epiphany dormant ability. EA says that Wolfgang, the librarian, has books about werewolves.

Step 2: Find the diary of Greg

Greg is a feral werewolf who lives in Moonwood Mill. His full name is Greggorius Lunvik. Smell the ground in Moonwood Mill and scavenge the marked spots to find pages of his diary. With Lunar Epiphany, your Sim can read them. The diary gives the recipe.

Step 3: Collect the ingredients

  • Moonpetals: pick them only at a full moon. GGRecon says they usually grow on top of the lakeside cliff in Moonwood Mill.
  • Wolfsbane: find it in the three tunnels, or in the wild near the waterfall south of the trailer of Greg. It also grows in Forgotten Hollow.

Step 4: Make the drink at the bar

Snooty Sims names the mixologist at the Grimtooth Bar & Bunker. Take the ingredients there. Gfinity says that the drink is made at a bar. Your Sim must drink it in human form.

You do not have to cure the curse. Gfinity says that a Sim who controls Fury can change form at will.

Where does LifeSim fit?

LifeSim does not fit if you want werewolves. It is not a Sims pack, and it does not add werewolves to your Sims game. It has no full moon, no Fury and no wolf packs. For The Sims 4, stay with this pack.
