How to become famous in The Sims 4

Get Famous guide: how to earn fame stars, celebrity perks and quirks, the acting career, reputation levels, and fame cheats for The Sims 4.

How do you become famous in The Sims 4?

First, get The Sims 4 Get Famous expansion pack. Then do actions that give fame. These actions show a green star icon. Each new fame rank gives your Sim a new star.

EA lists the pack for PC and Mac, with a release date of November 15, 2018. Launch news from Newsweek said November 16 and a price of $39.99. You also need the base game. This guide uses pages that we opened on October 23, 2026.

Do you need Get Famous to be famous in The Sims 4?

Yes. The fame system comes with the pack. A Sims Community reader says that all careers connect to the pack, but you need the pack to become famous. See the full list of Sims 4 packs for the other expansions.

What is the difference between fame and reputation?

Fame shows how many Sims know your Sim. Reputation shows how other Sims feel about your Sim. Newsweek says that a bad reputation does not always hurt fame. Mischief and feuds can still make a Sim famous.

What are the fastest ways to get fame?

Guides list these actions. Do them in public, where other Sims can see you.

  • Act in commercials, TV shows, and movies.
  • Play an instrument, sing, or tell jokes at an open mic night.
  • Perform romantic or horror scenes for other Sims.
  • Sell paintings, photographs, or archaeology finds.
  • Write and publish a book, or write and license songs.
  • Upload vlogs and reply to the comments.
  • Update your social media status.
  • Donate to a charity, or spend time with a famous Sim.

Snooty Sims says that big tasks give “massive amounts of fame.” Some examples are a finished book or a filmed movie. Sims Community adds that the child of famous parents also gets fame.

What are the 5 fame stars in Sims 4?

The five stars are five celebrity ranks. Each rank gives perk points. You spend these points on fame perks. Snooty Sims lists the ranks like this:

So a five-star Sim has 10 perk points in total. At rank 5, fame drops more slowly. Snooty Sims also says that the Sim “can’t drop below Rank 3” after that.

Does fame go down in Sims 4?

Yes. Fame drops when your Sim does nothing famous. A Sims Community writer saw the fame of a detective fall “back to zero” on a day off. Post on social media on days off to slow the drop.

The Unstoppable Fame trait stops the drop. TheGamer says that it also makes paparazzi reactions positive and gives one extra perk point. Sims Community calls it a reward trait from an aspiration.

How do you stay private as a celebrity?

Use a mirror to put on a celebrity disguise. This option opens at rank 3. Fans and paparazzi then leave your Sim alone.

What do fame perks and quirks do?

Perks are good effects that you choose. Quirks are odd habits that you do not choose. Newsweek says that a quirk comes when a Sim does one action many times in a short time.

Some fame perks

Sims Community lists the perks in five groups: Bad, Good, Brand, Career, and Fame. These are some of them, with the effects that guides give:

  • Squad: other Sims follow your Sim as an entourage.
  • Trailblazer: other Sims start to dress like your Sim.
  • Fan Favorite: passersby can faint when your Sim poses.
  • Influencer: fans send gifts, such as collectibles, decor, and food.
  • Play the Villain: mean actions give your Sim more fame.
  • Easy Street: faster promotions, more pay, and good workdays.
  • Established Name: your Sim skips auditions and wardrobe prep.

HighGround Gaming says that Established Name needs three stars. It also needs the Noticeable and CelebuSerum perks first.

Some fame quirks

Examples from Newsweek and the cheat lists are No Touching, Phone Fanatic, Juice Enthusiast, Vain Street, Refined Palate, Paparazzi Darling, Emotion Bomb, and Stan. The quirk names tell you the habit. A Sim with No Touching does not want other Sims to touch it.

The pack also adds a new Sim trait, Self-Absorbed. These Sims fish for compliments and like the spotlight. Read all Sims 4 traits for the other traits.

How does the acting career work in Get Famous?

The Actor career has 10 levels and works with gigs, not fixed work hours. Newsweek says that it has about 30 gigs. The gigs go from background roles and commercials to TV shows and movies.

How do you start an acting career in Sims 4?

  1. Use the phone or computer to find a job, and pick the Actor career.
  2. Choose a talent agency.
  3. Audition for a gig. A higher Acting skill helps.
  4. Prepare for the role. Most roles ask your Sim to raise a skill.
  5. Go to the studio and do the work on set.

What do you do on set?

HighGround Gaming lists three tasks: Get Into Hair and Makeup, Get Into Costume, and Tell Director You Are Ready. Then perform the scene. Each action can be normal or risky. A risky action can double your work performance, but it can also fail.

Get a gold result for the best rewards. The same guide says that gold usually gives a promotion on the same day.

How do you raise the Acting skill?

The pack also adds Media Production. Newsweek says that this skill has five levels. It works with the video station, the streaming drone, and the music station.

Can you get famous in other careers?

How does reputation work in Sims 4?

Every Sim starts at Neutral. Good actions move the reputation up. Mean actions move it down. Sims Community says that the witnesses matter more than the action.

For example, a public fight with many witnesses hurts your reputation. Newsweek says that cheating in private has no effect. A fight with bouncers or paparazzi also hurts it.

To unlock other perks, change “squad” to the perk name. For quirks, use 61442 in place of 61441. Find the Sim ID with sims.get_sim_id_by_name [first name] [last name].

How do you cheat fame stars?

Shift-click your Sim after you turn on testing cheats. Go to Pack Cheats, then Expansion Packs, then EP06 Get Famous, then Public Image. Snooty Sims says that you can raise, freeze, or lower fame there. You can also set the reputation.

What aspirations come with Get Famous?

The pack adds World-Famous Celebrity and Master Actor or Actress. Sims Community lists them. To finish one fast, use the aspiration cheat.

Can you turn off the celebrity glow and walk style?

Yes, one Sim at a time. Select the Sim and choose “Turn Off Fame Shine.” Choose “Use Normal Walkstyle” for the walk. Sims Community says that no global switch exists.

Can kids become famous in Sims 4?

Sims Community says that the child of famous parents gets fame. The cheat lists also include a Drama Club for children.

Which lot traits come with Get Famous?

The pack adds Celebrity Home, Hottest Spot in Town, and Up-and-Coming Hotspot. A Celebrity Home gives more fame and limits who can come in.
