The Sims 4 Gallery

The Sims 4 Gallery is EA’s free online library of Households, Lots, and Rooms that players make and share. You open it in the game, download a creation to My Library, and place it in your world.

The EA help page says: “You can create, share, and download content with players around the world.” The EA FAQ says that you can do this “without having to leave your game.” The Gallery also holds Sims and custom tattoos.

You read this on the LifeSim blog. We make a different life sim, and it has no Gallery. We opened every source on November 1, 2026. We say where a fact comes from players and not from EA.

How do you open the Gallery in the game?

• Select the Gallery icon in the top-right corner of the screen. It works in Live Mode, Build Mode, and Create a Sim.
• Or select the Gallery from the Main Menu when the game starts.
• On a PC or a Mac, press F4.

You need an internet connection. The EA help page says so in plain words. For what else stops without a connection, read can you play The Sims 4 offline.

What are the three tabs?

The Gallery tab shows creations by other players. You can search by item name, hashtag, or EA Account ID. The Profile tab shows your creations, your bio, and the creators that you follow. The My Library tab shows your own creations and the items that you saved.

Is there a Sims 4 Gallery website?

Yes. EA has a web page at ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/gallery. EA describes it as a place to “browse trending creations, download custom households, lots, and rooms created by the community.” The page has a search box that needs four characters or more.

SnootySims published a guide in April 2024. It says that a web Gallery download shows in the game after a restart. We could not test the web steps ourselves. If you are not sure, use the Gallery inside the game.

Save the item to My Library first. Then place it. The place step is different for a Household, a Lot, and a Room.

Save an item to My Library

1. Open the Gallery.
2. Select the Household, Sim, Lot, or Room that you want.
3. Click the download arrow. The game saves the item to My Library.

Place a Household

1. Open Create a Sim from the Main Menu.
2. Select the Gallery icon in the top-right corner, then the Gallery tab.
3. Under Category, choose Households, and save the Household to My Library.
4. Click Place Household in the bottom-right corner.

In Live Mode, the same button merges the new Sims with your current Household.

Place a Lot

1. Open the Menu, then Manage Worlds.
2. Open the Gallery with the icon at the top of the screen.
3. Choose the Lot, then select Place Lot or Place Lot and Edit.
4. Choose the place in the world, and select the tick icon to confirm.
5. Choose furnished or unfurnished, then select Replace Lot.

You cannot place a Lot that is bigger than the lot in your world. Place Lot and Edit opens the new Lot in Build Mode.

Place a Room

1. Open the Lot, then open Build Mode.
2. Click the Gallery button in the top-right corner.
3. Select the Room, then click Room in the bottom-right corner.

You cannot place a Room from Manage Worlds. The Lot must be open. The steps above come from the EA help page.

A custom tattoo from the Gallery works only if you own the Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack. Any player can still save it as a favorite.

Save your creation, give it a name and a description, and select the Share button. The EA help page gives these steps.

Share a Household or a Sim

1. Open the Gallery.
2. Select the Household or Sim that you want to share.
3. Write a name and a description.
4. Select Share Household to the Gallery in the bottom-left corner.

Share a Lot or a Room

1. Open Build Mode.
2. Select Save to My Library. This is the arrow and folder icon at the top of the screen.
3. Open the Save Lot dropdown, and choose the Lot or the Room.
4. Write a name and a description. For a Lot, set the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
5. Select Save Lot to My Library or Save Room to My Library in the bottom-right corner.
6. Select Share Lot to the Gallery or Share Room to the Gallery in the bottom-left corner.

Do you need an EA Account?

Yes. The EA FAQ says that you need an EA Account to install and register the game. Other players find you in the Gallery by your EA Account ID. On a console, you link your PlayStation Network or Xbox account to your EA Account. The Gallery is restricted to players aged 13 and over. For the full rating, read the Sims 4 age rating.

No, you can download a creation without the packs. But the items from a pack that you do not have will be missing from it.

The EA help page says that this content “will be missing from your download” if you do not have it installed. It adds that you may need to restart the game if you have the content and it is still missing.

Check the pack icons before you download

FinalBoss, in a guide updated in January 2026, tells players to “check pack icons before hitting Download.” The EA FAQ describes a Gallery filter for the packs that you own. The EA help page that we read does not explain the icons. Use both before you download a big Lot.

Turn on a pack that you own

A pack that you own can still be off. The EA pack guide says that items from a deactivated pack “won’t be available” in a save. Open Pack Selection in the Main Menu and turn the pack on. For the install steps, read how to install Sims 4 packs.

No. The Gallery does not install custom content (CC) or mods. A creation that uses CC arrives without those items.

Sims Community quotes the EA patch notes of July 31, 2018. They say: “The Gallery will not download custom content or mods to your machine.” A filter shows the items made with CC, “but it will not install the custom content for you.”

Use the custom content filter

The EA help page names a custom content box in the left-side bar. Tick or untick it when you search. FinalBoss calls the box “Include Custom Content”. Untick it to hide the creations that use CC.

Is the Gallery safe?

The 2018 patch notes say that the items from the Gallery “will not break your game.” This is because the Gallery sends no CC and no mods. The risk comes from the files that you install from other websites.

Other players can still post content that breaks the EA rules. The EA help page tells you how to report it. You can also block a player from the Profile in the Gallery. A block in The Sims 4 applies to all EA games on all platforms.

Yes. The Gallery came to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with the update of January 16, 2020. Console players share one Gallery with PC and Mac players.

Sims Community reports these rules from that update:

• “The Gallery is cross-platform.”
• You must connect your PlayStation Network or Xbox account to your EA Account.
• You do not need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold.
• “Creations using CC will not be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Gallery.”

The EA FAQ still says that the Gallery “will not be available in the Xbox or PlayStation versions.” That answer is older than the 2020 update. The newer EA help page gives steps to block a player in the Gallery on a console.

The usual causes are no internet connection, an EA service problem, or a problem with the EA app. Do the checks below in order.

1. Check your internet connection. The Gallery does not work offline.
2. Open the Online Service Updates page on help.ea.com. If EA has a problem, wait for EA to fix it.
3. Close the game fully and start it again.
4. Clear the EA app cache. Open the EA app menu, then Help, then App Recovery, then Clear cache.
5. Update the game to the newest version.
6. Move your Mods folder to the desktop and test the Gallery with no mods.
7. Contact EA through the Contact us link on help.ea.com.

Steps 1, 2, 4, and 7 come from EA pages. EA lists the cache step for download and update problems, not for the Gallery by name. Steps 3, 5, and 6 are our advice, not EA instructions.

On Windows, you can also clear the cache from the Start menu. Open All Apps, expand the EA folder, and select App Recovery. EA says that a cache clear “can’t fix problems like game outages or servers going down.”

The download is there, but items are missing

This is a pack or CC problem, not a connection problem. Read the pack section above. Restart the game if you own the content, as the EA help page advises.

LifeSim, our game, does not fit a Gallery player. It has no Gallery, no build mode, and no mods. If you like to build or download houses, stay with The Sims 4.

Is the Sims 4 Gallery free?

Yes. We found no price for the Gallery on the EA pages. You need the game, an EA Account, and an internet connection.

Does the Gallery work offline?

No. The EA help page says that you need an internet connection to access the Gallery.

Where are my Gallery downloads?

Open the My Library tab in the Gallery. You can filter your saved items by Lot, Household, and Room.

Can you upload a creation with CC?

The EA help page says that a creation may contain custom content. Players without that CC get the creation with the items missing. Console players do not see CC creations.

How old must you be to use the Gallery?

EA restricts the Gallery to players aged 13 and over, because The Sims 4 is rated Teen.
