How the Knitting skill points grow

You start at level 1 after earning 100 skill points. Reaching level 2 takes another 1,440 points, and the requirements grow steadily from there.

The climb gets much steeper in the second half of the skill. Moving from level 5 to level 6 asks for 7,200 points, which brings your total to 19,780 points.

The largest jumps happen at the very end of the skill track. Going from level 9 to level 10 takes 21,120 points, for a grand total of 81,580 points.

Best emotions and moodlets for faster knitting

Your Sim's current emotion changes how fast you earn skill points. Being Very Inspired gives a 1.6 multiplier, while Inspired gives a 1.4 multiplier. Even a Sad emotion helps you knit faster with a 1.2 multiplier.

Stay away from knitting when your Sim is mad. Feeling Angry drops your skill gain multiplier to 0.8, and Very Angry drops it to 0.6. An Enraged Sim only gets a 0.4 multiplier.

You can stack moodlets to multiply your skill gains even further. The Artistic Endeavors moodlet multiplies your gain by 3, and Creative Spark multiplies it by 2.5. Universal skill boosts like Snaggle Flustered also give a 4 multiplier.

High level knitting unlocks and cheats

Early levels let you knit socks at level 2, mailbox cozies at level 3, and rugs at level 4. By level 7, you unlock 44 recipes and can knit decorations like a Blue Octopus. Level 8 lets you start crafting newborn and toddler onesies, plus the Cottagecore for Llamas item.

At level 10, you unlock 24 final recipes and the most notable interactions. You can knit child toys like bears, knit The Forbidden Sweater, and declare your life's knitted masterpiece.
