Singing skill

You start at level 1 by earning 100 skill points. Reaching level 2 takes 1,440 more points, for a total of 1,540 points. The point requirement grows steadily through the early levels, needing 3,600 points to move from level 3 to level 4.

The point jumps become much larger in the second half of the skill. Moving from level 6 to level 7 requires 10,140 points, which brings your running total to 29,920 points. The final push from level 9 to level 10 asks for 21,120 points, ending at 81,580 total points.

Your Sim's emotion multiplies the skill points you earn. Feeling Very Inspired gives a 1.6 multiplier, while Inspired gives 1.4 and Sad gives 1.2. Avoid practicing while angry, because Angry drops your gain to 0.8, Very Angry to 0.6, and Enraged to 0.4.

Specific moodlets multiply your Singing skill gains even further, and several active boosts multiply together. The Artistic Endeavors moodlet multiplies gains by 3, and Creative Spark multiplies them by 2.5. You can also get a 2 multiplier from Fluttering Bliss or Inspirational Flowers.

Other helpful moodlets include Creative Boost, Dedication, and Fortune: You're a Creativity Wizard, which each give a 1.5 multiplier. General skill boosts work here too. Snaggle Flustered gives a 4 multiplier, while Parental Guidance provides a 3 multiplier.

Early levels unlock the main social and singing interactions listed in the game files. At level 1, you can Rave about Favorite Singers, and level 2 adds Sing Songs and Sing in Shower. Level 3 unlocks Serenade and Sing Serenade, while level 4 unlocks Ballad.

Levels 5 through 10 do not gate new interactions in this list, and no careers require the Singing skill for promotions. If you want to skip the 81,580 total points, you can use a cheat in Live mode. Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac.

Console players open the cheat box by pressing all four shoulder buttons at once. Type testingcheats true first and press Enter. Then enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_Singing 10 to set your Sim's Singing skill to the maximum level of 10.
