Acting skill

You start at level 1 after earning 100 skill points. Reaching level 2 requires 1,440 more points, bringing your total to 1,540 points. The points needed for each new level grow steadily from there.

The jump becomes much larger in the middle and high levels. Going from level 4 to level 5 takes 5,280 points, for a total of 12,580 points. Moving from level 6 to level 7 requires 10,140 new points.

The final levels demand the most effort from your Sim. You need 17,100 points to reach level 9, and 21,120 points to reach level 10. Mastering the entire skill requires 81,580 total points.

Standard emotions do not give a direct boost to the Acting skill. Instead, you must rely on specific moodlets to multiply your skill gains. Multiple active boosts multiply together to speed up your progress.

General skill boosts offer the highest multipliers for your Sim. Snaggle Flustered multiplies skill gain by 4. Parental Guidance and Skilling on Up multiply your points gained by 3.

Specific moodlets also help you build the Acting skill faster. Feelin' Treemendous and Loved by Sprites both give a 1.5 multiplier. You can also use Social Brilliance for a 1.3 multiplier, or Social Insight and Strokes of Inspiration for a 1.2 multiplier.

Leveling up unlocks ways to rescue failing chats and entertain Sims. You can Save Awkward Conversation at level 3, Save Boring Conversation at level 6, and Save Unpleasant Conversation at level 7. You unlock Perform Musical Scene and Teach about Acting at level 5, while level 9 adds Perform Comedy Scene and Perform Dramatic Monologue.

Early levels also help Sims in the Drama Club. A promotion out of career level 2 requires Acting level 2. Moving up from career level 3 requires Acting level 3.

You can max out this skill right away in Live mode using the cheat console. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac, type testingcheats true, and press Enter. Then enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_Acting 10 to reach the top level.
