Mischief skill

Starting the Mischief skill takes very few points. You reach level 1 with 100 points, and level 2 requires 1,440 more points for a total of 1,540. By level 5, you need 5,280 points from the level before, bringing your total to 12,580.

The point requirements grow much larger in the second half of the skill. Moving from level 6 to level 7 takes 10,140 points, which is a noticeable jump from the 7,200 points needed for level 6. The final push from level 9 to level 10 asks for 21,120 points, out of 81,580 total points.

Your Sim's emotion changes how fast you earn skill points. Being Angry, Very Angry, or Enraged gives a 1.2 multiplier to your skill gain. Avoid practicing while Sad or Embarrassed, because those states lower your multiplier to 0.8, 0.6, or 0.4 when Mortified.

Traits and moodlets stack with emotions by multiplying together. The Cringe trait gives a 1.5 multiplier, as do the Buzzz Foam, Dedication, and Perfected moodlets. For a 2 multiplier, use the Dark Chicken, Midnight Meal, or Power of the Pranksters moodlets.

General skill boosts also speed up your progress. The Parental Guidance and Skilling on Up boosts multiply your skill gain by 3. The Snaggle Flustered boost gives a 4 multiplier.

Higher levels of Mischief unlock new pranks and sabotage interactions. Level 6 lets you Play Hooky and Set Up Social Media Password Stealer, while level 8 unlocks Sabotage Landing Stabilizers and Summon Urban Myth. At level 10, you unlock the interaction to Use Thioacetone Oil.

The Criminal career requires Mischief starting at career level 2, which asks for skill level 2 to get promoted. You need skill level 6 to promote out of career level 5 before choosing the Boss or Oracle branch. Both branches then require skill levels 7, 8, 9, and 10 for promotions from career levels 6 through 9.

You can skip the grind with a cheat in Live mode. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the cheat console, then enter testingcheats true. Type stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_Mischief 10, or change the 10 to any level from 1 to 10.
