Tattooing skill

You start at level 1 after earning 100 skill points. Reaching level 2 takes 1,440 more points, for a total of 1,540 points.

Each new level asks for more points than the level before it. You need 5,280 points to go from level 4 to level 5, and 10,140 points to reach level 7.

The largest jump happens at the end of the track. You must earn 21,120 points to go from level 9 to level 10, bringing your total to 81,580 points.

Your Sim's current emotion changes how fast you earn skill points. Being Very Inspired gives a 1.6 multiplier, Inspired gives a 1.4 multiplier, and Sad gives a 1.2 multiplier. Angry emotions slow down your progress, dropping your multiplier to 0.8 when Angry, 0.6 when Very Angry, and 0.4 when Enraged.

Specific moodlets also multiply your skill gain, and active multipliers stack together. Artistic Endeavors gives a 3 multiplier, Creative Spark gives 2.5, and Fluttering Bliss gives 2. Moodlets like Creative Boost, Dedication, and Perfected each multiply your gain by 1.5.

Boosts that work on every skill also help you level up faster. Snaggle Flustered multiplies your skill gain by 4. Parental Guidance and Skilling on Up each give a 3 multiplier.

Advancing through the skill unlocks social and service interactions. At level 2, you can Talk about Tattooing with other Sims. Level 4 unlocks Offer Tattoo Removal, and level 7 unlocks Offer Tattoo Touch-up.

No careers in the game ask for the Tattooing skill for promotions. If you want to skip the point grind, you can use a cheat in Live mode.

Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac. Type testingcheats true, then enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_Tattooing 10 to reach the maximum level.
