Horse Riding skill

You need 100 points to reach level 1 of Horse Riding. Going from level 1 to level 2 takes 1,440 more points, for a total of 1,540 points. Level 5 asks for 5,280 points from the level before, bringing your total to 12,580 points.

The point cost grows much larger in the second half of the skill. Level 7 needs 10,140 points from level 6, and level 8 needs 13,440 more points. Reaching level 10 takes 21,120 points from level 9, or 81,580 total points from the start.

Standard emotions alone do not give a multiplier to Horse Riding, so you should use traits and moodlets. The Competitive trait gives a 1.5 gain multiplier, and the Horse Lover trait gives a 1.3 multiplier. Having Strong Physical Affinity gives a 1.4 multiplier, while Moderate Physical Affinity gives 1.3.

Specific moodlets also speed up your progress, and active multipliers multiply together. The Active Boost moodlet and the Feelin' Treemendous moodlet each multiply your skill gain by 1.5. You can also get a 1.3 multiplier from Athletic Brilliance or a 1.2 multiplier from Athletic Insight.

General skill boosts work on Horse Riding too. The Snaggle Flustered boost multiplies your skill points by 4. Parental Guidance and the Skilling on Up boost each give a gain multiplier of 3.

Early levels unlock riding and training interactions. At level 2, you can use Canter Here and Go for Intense Ride. Level 3 unlocks Practice Basic Jumps, Practice Advanced Jumps, Practice Barrels, and Race Barrels.

Higher levels add training and social options with other Sims. Level 4 unlocks Discuss Horse Riding, and level 5 unlocks Intensely Train and Ask for Horse Training Feedback. You get Encourage Training at level 6 and Share Horse Riding Tips at level 8.

You can skip the grind by using a cheat in Live mode. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac to open the console. Type testingcheats true, then enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_EquestrianSkill 10 to max the skill.
