Violin skill

Your Sim needs 100 skill points to unlock level 1. Going from level 1 to level 2 takes 1,440 more points, for a total of 1,540 points. Each level after that asks for more points than the last.

The point requirement increases a lot in the middle levels. Moving from level 6 to level 7 takes 10,140 points. By the time your Sim reaches level 7, they have earned 29,920 total points.

The biggest jumps happen at the end of the skill track. Level 9 asks for 17,100 points from level 8, and level 10 asks for 21,120 points from level 9. Reaching the maximum level of 10 takes 81,580 total skill points.

Emotions change how fast your Sim gains Violin skill points. Being Very Inspired gives a 1.6 multiplier, while being Inspired gives a 1.4 multiplier. A Sad Sim also gets a small boost with a 1.2 multiplier.

You should avoid practicing while your Sim is mad. Being Angry slows skill gain to a 0.8 multiplier, and Very Angry drops it to 0.6. An Enraged Sim only gets a 0.4 multiplier.

Active moodlets multiply together with emotion boosts for faster gains. The Artistic Endeavors moodlet gives a 3 multiplier, and Creative Spark gives a 2.5 multiplier. General skill boosts like Snaggle Flustered multiply gains by 4, while Parental Guidance multiplies them by 3.

Early levels unlock new ways to play. Level 2 adds six interactions, including Fiddle for Fun and Carol of Cleaning. Level 3 unlocks Bow for Inspiration, and level 4 adds Busk with Violin and Play with Emotion.

Higher levels let your Sim create new things and share their music. At level 7, Sims can use the Bring to Tears interaction. Level 8 unlocks Write Song and Craft Instrument, while level 9 lets you License Song.

You can skip the grind with a cheat in Live mode. Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac. Type testingcheats true, then enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_Violin 10 to reach level 10 right away.
