Mixology skill

You need 100 skill points to reach level 1, which gives you access to 14 recipes. Moving from level 1 to level 2 takes 1,440 points, bringing your total to 1,540 points. The point cost grows larger with each new tier.

The middle tiers require much more effort than the early ones. Going from level 4 to level 5 takes 5,280 points, for a running total of 12,580 points. By level 7, you have 29,920 total points.

The largest jumps happen at the end of the skill track. Moving from level 8 to level 9 takes 17,100 points, and going from level 9 to level 10 takes 21,120 points. Mastering Mixology at level 10 requires 81,580 total points.

Your Sim's current emotion changes how fast you earn skill points. Being Very Inspired gives a 1.6x gain multiplier, and being Inspired gives a 1.4x multiplier. Even a Sad Sim gets a 1.2x boost, while Angry, Very Angry, and Enraged emotions slow your progress down.

You can stack active moodlets to multiply your skill gains even further. The Artistic Endeavors moodlet multiplies gains by 3, and Creative Spark multiplies them by 2.5. General skill buffs also help, such as Snaggle Flustered with a 4x multiplier, or Parental Guidance with a 3x multiplier.

Higher levels unlock special drinks and bar interactions. Level 5 unlocks the Dyed Cocktail and Prank Dyed Cocktail, while level 6 lets you Practice Bar Tricks. At level 10, you unlock 11 more recipes, including Confident Potion, Energized Potion, and Flirty Potion, plus the Freshen Drink interaction.

The Culinary career asks for Mixology starting at career level 3, which needs skill level 2 to get promoted. If you pick the Mixologist branch, you need skill level 5 for promotion from career level 6. Advancing out of career level 9 requires Mixology level 10.
