How Fabrication skill points scale by level

You start level 1 with 100 skill points and unlock 13 recipes right away. Reaching level 2 requires 1,440 more points, bringing your total to 1,540 points. The point requirement grows with each level.

The jump becomes much steeper in the middle levels. Going from level 4 to level 5 takes 5,280 points, for a running total of 12,580 points. Moving from level 6 to level 7 requires 10,140 points.

The largest jumps happen at the end of the skill track. Level 9 asks for 17,100 new points, and level 10 asks for 21,120 more points. You need 81,580 total skill points to reach the maximum level.

Fastest ways to level up Fabrication

Your Sim's emotion changes how fast you earn skill points. Being Focused multiplies your skill gain by 1.4, and being Very Focused multiplies it by 1.6. Avoid crafting while Angry or Sad, as those emotions multiply your gain by 0.8 or lower.

You can stack traits and moodlets to multiply your points even further. The Strong Mental Affinity trait gives a 1.4 multiplier, while the Omega Brain Boost moodlet gives a 2 multiplier. Several moodlets like Crafty Memories, Dedication, and Mental Boost multiply your gain by 1.5.

General skill boosts also speed up your progress. The Snaggle Flustered boost multiplies skill gain by 4. Parental Guidance and Skilling on Up both multiply your points by 3.

High level rewards, careers, and the skill cheat

Higher levels unlock new crafting options and social actions. You unlock the Fabricated Gift interaction at level 2 and Enthuse about Fabrication at level 3. Level 9 gives you the largest batch with 31 recipes. This includes the Aura of Death Flower and Blue Belles of Bliss.

Level 10 unlocks 10 final recipes and the Declare Life's Finest Fabrication interaction. If your Sim works in the Green Technician branch of the Civil Designer career, promotions require this skill. You need level 2 for the promotion from career level 4, and up to level 8 for level 10.

You can max the skill right away using the cheat console in Live mode. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on PC or Cmd + Shift + C on Mac. Type testingcheats true, then enter stats.set_skill_level statistic_Skill_AdultMajor_Fabrication 10 to reach level 10.
