Comedy skill

You start at level 1 after earning 100 skill points. Reaching level 2 takes 1,440 more points, for a total of 1,540 points. Each new level asks for a larger amount of points than the one before it.

The point cost increases fast in the middle and late levels. Going from level 4 to level 5 takes 5,280 points, and reaching level 7 from level 6 takes 10,140 points. The final jump from level 9 to level 10 asks for 21,120 points, bringing your total to 81,580 points.

Your Sim's emotion changes how fast you earn Comedy skill points. A Playful Sim gets a 1.4 multiplier, Very Playful gives 1.6, and Hysterical gives 1.8. Negative emotions slow you down, with Sad or Embarrassed at 0.8, Very Sad or Very Embarrassed at 0.6, and Mortified at 0.4.

Specific moodlets also multiply your skill gain, and active multipliers stack together. Moodlets like Dark Chicken, Midnight Meal, and Power of the Jokesters give a 2 multiplier. Buzzz Foam, Dedication, Perfected, and Social Spark give a 1.5 multiplier.

You can also use general skill boosts to speed up your progress. The Snaggle Flustered boost multiplies skill gain by 4. Parental Guidance and Skilling on Up multiply your points by 3.

Higher levels unlock new routines and interactions. You get 7 routines at level 3, 10 at level 6, and 7 at level 8. At level 5, you can practice or refine a routine and teach others about comedy. Level 9 unlocks Tell Crowd Pleasing Story, and level 10 lets you improvise routines.

The Entertainer career asks for this skill starting at level 3, where promotion needs Comedy level 2. If you join the Comedian branch at career level 5, you need Comedy level 6 to advance. Promoting out of career level 9 asks for level 10 in the Comedy skill.
